PURPOSE and SCOPE
Key responsibilities of this position are to provide leadership of Workface Planning activities. The primary responsibility of the WFP Lead is to oversee all of the workface planning activities at site.
On a day-to-day basis, WFP Lead will collaborate with Air Products Construction and Contractor team members, organize group training, and provide one-on-one coaching. Other responsibilities include collaborating to ensure POC is followed, and all constraints are cleared.
The WFP Lead is the go-to person for Advanced Work Packaging questions, functions as a resource for information, a source of practical assistance, and a skilled motivator responsible for fostering a spirit of collaboration.
Specific Job Functions of this position are:
Oversees construction planning, construction execution sequencing, and work packaging coordination at the site
Establishes standards and processes for Workface Planning and Installation Work Packages (IWPs) and constraint management.
Ensure that the WFP audit protocols are established and followed.
Ensure constraint management is established for the Project.
Align with Air Products and Contractor Information Management (IM) to ensure required information for WFP is available in an effective and efficient manner.
Identify/propose IM gaps for effective workface management.
Train and coach Contractor management team, superintendents, workface planners, and other personnel as required.
Report to management team on the effectiveness of contractor workface planning.
Facilitate weekly IWP Constraint Review sessions on-site to review constraints associated with IWPs for all applicable contractors.
Coordinate with the project team to ensure planning process is well executed and deliverables are produced in a timely manner.
Coordinate with all departments on the project to ensure planning process is fully integrated within project.
Support creation of weekly and short-range lookahead planning materials.
Utilizes their hands-on construction expertise to assist Contractor & Air Products construction Personnel.
Coordinates with and provides construction knowledge to project schedulers, engineers, other WFP facilitators and superintendents.
Identifies specific risks associated with executing the planned activities.
Ensure CWP’s are issued with enough time allocated for final installation planning.
Gather, analyze, input and compile information; submit required information to site leadership.

The position requires at a minimum:
Previous experience implementing and managing Workface Planning on capital construction projects in the $1B range
Demonstrated leadership and strong interpersonal skills
Leadership of both construction engineering and site construction teams
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization at construction site
Experienced in in the full cycle of construction activities from development through production.
Deep, technical understanding of AWP systems and processes, and must be intimately familiar with WFP phase of the AWP.
Proven Record of success in safety, environmental, quality, employee involvement, team building, and diversity.
Construction, engineering, or management university degree or equivalent experience
Minimum of 10 years construction and engineering experience
Five (5) or more years of Advanced Work Packaging/Work Face Planning Lead experience or equivalent
