Job Purpose
As an experienced Process Engineer performs tasks requiring the selection and application of a range of standard technical problem technical problem solving techniques, monitoring and analysis.
Role responsibilities:
• Identify the PFD of major processes and utility facilities.
• Describe each production process and Identify the support utility processes of the plant.
• Describe the P and ID loops, standard symbols, abbreviations and component settings and limits.
• Identify major static, rotating and utility equipment and its instrument loops.
• Identify the process variables that are controlled during the start-up and normal plant operation.
• Monitoring overall TPC sustainability and energy compliance.
• Interact and fulfil government energy requirement and compliance.
• Calculate and report overall TPC sustainability and energy performance.
• Analyse reasons for material and energy losses from plant facilities.
• Collect data required to perform improvements and/or modifications.
• Use and develop complicated process simulation software.
• Use scientific principles related to magnitude, momentum, and heat transfer etc.
• Provide technical support for operation and process with regard of sustainability and energy.
• Estimate the performance efficiency for all plant equipment
• Ensure efficient equipment performance and create energy & sustainability.

• Analyse the energy consumption goals and strategies, including available or innovative resources, new efficient technologies, and improved energy information (for monomers only).
• Advise on procedures for reducing material and energy losses.
• Plan for future energy challenges by introducing new technology, energy efficiency improvements and onsite energy generation.
• Contribute to equipment inspection tasks during maintenance.
• Investigate and troubleshoot plant/process problems.
• Identify problem areas, discusses, and recommend solutions in collaboration with the direct supervisor.
• Advise and recommend necessary conditions for the smooth operation of the plant during maintenance and emergencies.
• Suggest solutions for improving plant equipment performance.
• Promote innovative technical solution for sustainability and energy enhancement.
• Provide technical support with exploring and implementing energy saving projects and applying CDM principles.
• Prepare required management of change with regards to international process Engineering standards and Best technical practices.
• Describe the basic aspects of current Petrochemical technology and economics.
• Develop and implement latest technological improvements for plant production, in order to effectively save time and cost to achieve operational excellence.
• Compare Technologies and suggest replacements.
• Assess cost estimates, feasibility studies, economic analysis and schedules before the final project execution.
• Ensure that new technology investments are considered in capital and operating budgets compared to plant historical data.
• Review, monitor, apply and approve new technology investments.
• Support and participate in benchmarking studies and audits to identify sustainability gaps and areas of improvement.
• Provides input for preparation Department Capital and Operating budgets and monitor annual expenditure budgets.
• Establish priorities of process efficiency research and development such as Cracking, hydrogenation & separation, new process technologies, improved process operations and energy systems.
• Ensure strict compliance with all approved EHSM procedures and practices in order to afford protection to life, property and the environment.
• Ensure strict compliance with all approved Responsible Care and IMRS policy and procedure to align with the TASNEE commitment to sustainable business.
• Ensure that HSE requirements for the company and relevant local regulations are observed.
• Apply and ensure safety requirements as per the company HSE manual.
• Report accidents, unsafe conditions and defects in equipment.
• Assess safety and environmental issues.
• Participate in PHA studies like HAZOP, HIRA, CTI and JSA as per IMRS standards.
• Develop and train Saudi Nationals to support the Company National Development efforts.
Qualification and Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years experience in petrochemical industry.
• Experience operation or process engineering in Monomer industry (ethylene cracker (EC) or propane dehydrogenation (PDH)).
• Familiar with Saudi Energy Efficiency Centre (SEEC) requirement and regulations.
• Preferred, Certified Energy Manager by SEEC.
• Bachelor or Master s Degree
