Our client based in Saudi Arabia is looking for Automotive Shift Supervisor to join their operations. This position reports directly to the Automotive Superintendent. Maintains Internal and external departmental communication and coordination with production planning, maintenance, utility, and safety.
Overall Job Purpose
• This position is responsible to supervise and coordinate all activities related to shift operations of the Automotive Sheet area, which includes continuous heat treatment line, high gauge slitter and finished goods packaging line. Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the production process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
• Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
• He is responsible to carry out all the operations in specific areas safely and efficiently according to standard operating procedures to meet the operational targets.

• Coordinate with EHS team about any action they take to comply with the EHS Act or Regulations.
• Comply with safety policy in the production area by words and actions.

Management
• Effectively utilize the total workforce and continuously evaluate the operational structure and flow and its responsiveness to challenges.
• Deliver and drive improvement on key performance metrics such as working capital, quality, production and spend.
• Develop a strategy for the operation, and outline and execute to achieve results.
• Drive and support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
• Maintain and foster positive employee relations and communications.
• Establish and coordinate Operations activities and resources to achieve optimum production levels while ensuring and improving product quality, meeting customer requirements and delivery schedules.
• Create and implement improvements to the operational process and associated production processes to reduce costs and increase production.
• Provide support in the development of a learning organization.
• Manage, direct, coach, lead, train and motivate teams to achieve goals and objectives in a timely and safe manner, while continuously striving to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
Job Relevant Information (Boundaries And Decision-Making Authority)
• Lead the general activities such as Total Productive Maintenance, problem solving and 5S in assigned area.
• Ensure all the person working in the plant must follow Ma aden Safety & Environment rules.
• Maximize productivity of Cold Rolling, Coating Line, Pit Slitter/High Speed Slitter Line including packaging and material handling of finished products at optimum capacity at the least cost.
• Minimize operating cost by controlling delays and optimizing the use of operating materials and supplies.
• Ensure complete personal attendance and initiates appropriate action as needed to ensure efficient and continuity of operation.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Crane Section, Roll Shop, Utilities and Logistics to ensure equipment reliability and continuous operation.
• Communicate with Cold Mill regarding quality issues encountered while processing materials for proper and appropriate actions.
• Coordinate with Central Maintenance and other company’s contractors for early completion of contracted jobs in accordance with the job specifications.
• Maintains good standard of housekeeping, asserts safety awareness in the workplace, and provide for safe and well-maintained workplace to protect personnel from harm.
• Maintain good standard of discipline and ensure compliance of company’s Rules and Regulations and other company wide policies and sees to it that any violation is dealt with fairly in accordance with established guidelines.
• Identifies and evaluates quality problems, suggestions and take corrective actions.
• Initiates investigation on problems associated with equipment and process, and recommends modification to improve quality, increase productivity, prevent major equipment breakdown, and optimize cost.
• Implements Quality Circle, Quality Improvement and the company Safety Management plan and encourage employee to participate actively.
• Performs any additional task assigned by the Automotive Superintendent.
• Assist with the continual improvement of the Quality System by implementing and participating in process improvement initiatives in relative areas.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Educational Qualifications:
• Bachelor s degree in Engineering or Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferable.
Experience:
• 10-12 years operational and supervisory experience in Rolling Mill production area.
• Detailed technical knowledge of the specific process being operated in required.
Skills:
• Supervisory and trouble shooting skills.
• Production planning and scheduling skills.
• Automotive Manufacturing
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Good computer skills.
High Performance Behaviours
Working Condition:
• 40% of work in office on administrative functions and 60% of work in shop floor for operation supervision and exposed to adverse plant condition such as high humidity, equipment noise etc.
