- Our client is looking for a Roll Shop Operator to join their operations in Saudi Arabia.
Job Description
• This position is responsible to operate the CNC roll and knives grinding machines, de-chocking and chocking machines and other related equipment (jib cranes) and conduct chock servicing/maintenance to produce high quality ready spare rolls according to specified finish.
• Clean and maintain the equipment to ensure optimum utilization and dimensional and surface finish accuracy. Comply with all the EHS policies and procedures in the workplace.
Responsibilities
• Takes reasonable care for his health and safety in the workplace. He must also take reasonable care for the health and safety of others who may be affected by what he does.
• Cooperates with EHS team about any action they take to comply with the EHS Act or Regulations.
• Operate the grinding machine to its maximum quality and productivity performance.
• Maintain proper record relating to rolls/knives.
• Properly check, clean, and preserve the rolls/knives.
• Prepare ready spare rolls by operating the roll chocking and de-chocking machines to mount and dismount rolls from the chocks and the brush/stripper bar.
• Identify and evaluate problems related to roll chocking and de-chocking, suggest solutions and corrective actions.
• Support commissioning activities during the start-up phase of the plant or in case of new developments in the area.
• Maintain safe working condition in the Roll Shop area and follow safe working procedures and instructions,
• Perform plating function at the chrome plating facility according to the established work instructions.
• Maintain close coordination with all Roll Shop floor operators,
• Remove and store rolls in designated storage racks using roll handling and lifting equipment.
• Performs other similar and associated duties as required by the Roll Shop Supervisor.
• Maintain proper records of rolls prepared
Experience & Qualifications
• Diploma or high school graduate is required
• 5 years operational experience in operating a CNC roll grinding machine, de-chocking and chocking machines and Roll Shop equipment,
• Detailed technical knowledge of the specific process being operated is required.
• Use of basic hand tools and precision measuring equipment like micrometers, hardness testers and roughness testers.
• Technical Knowledge of rolls, and roll assembly accessories, their defects and preparation.
• Must have good communication skills in written & oral in English.
