Summary
Supervisor daily activities of staff and ensures work quality and machine function according to policies and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1.Supervises daily work activities of subordinate CSSD personnel.
2. Establishes schedules, checks work in progress and upon completion to ensure that it meets established standards.
3. Assigns work to staff as needed to meet changing requirements.
4.Evaluates performance of staff. Counsels staff to improve performance and recommends disciplinary actions.
5. Ensures that all equipment and materials are available as needed, and that equipment is operated and maintained properly. Ensures that employees follow safe work practices. Informs managers of problems which arise and recommends corrective action.
6. Determines training needs. Arranges for any needed training. Assists with training and with orientation.
7. Assists with maintenance and documentation of supply, instrument, and equipment requirements for patient care.
8. Ensures the correct devices are packaged for invasive patient procedures.
9. Ensures that adequate inventory levels of supplies and instruments are available, and initiates replacement requests to meet anticipated needs. Initiates requests for equipment repair and maintains records of these requests.
Education
Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Business Administration or Health Management or any related discipline required.
Experience Required
Grade 08:
Two (2) years experience in Central Sterile Supply Distribution including one (1) year supervisory capacity with Bachelor Degree, or three (3) years similar requirements with Associate Degree required.
Grade 09:
Four (4) years of experience in KFSH&RC;as Supervisor, CSSD.
Average performance evaluation 4.3 or more.
Accumulative Continued Medical Education (CME) hours 50 or more
Other Requirements(Certificates)
- Must have one (1) year case cart experience.
- Ability to read, write and verbally comuunication in English.
- Must have word and spread sheet computer skills.
