الوصف الوظيفي
Duties and Responsibilities:

Registrar is assigned with two Consultants, covers patients in Surgical wards under the care of his assigned Consultants as well as patients in other departments under Consultations.
Registrar do the operation inside the theater along with his assigned Consultants two times per week during which he has to assist as well as perform various surgical procedures.
The outpatient duty includes covering 4 surgical clinics along with two Consultants per week lasting four hours each.
Registrar has to cover on floor call duties every 5th day for 24 hours starting 7:30 am to 7:30 am the next day (one day). During this period of time, he has to cover the following:
Emergency patients related to general surgery including trauma patients, acute abdomen causes like acute appendicitis, perforated duodenal ulcers, acute intestinal obstruction, ruptured ovarian cysts, acute cholecystitis, acute pancreatitis, patients with pneumothorax, vascular trauma, patient with acute limb ischemia, etc.
Admitted surgical patients in the ward.
Attending calls from other departments regarding surgical problems and intervention.
Preparing elective patients for next day operation list.
Performing emergency surgical procedures along with assisting Senior Registrar and Consultants in emergency procedures.
Has to present cases under his assigned consultant’s supervision in the surgical meeting on every Sunday of the week and grand round which is done every Wednesday.
Every Thursday, there is a presentation on various surgical topics along with journal club is also done by Registrar by roster.
