Job Purpose:
Electrical technicians will install, maintain, repair and upgrade electrical and mechanical equipment, components, tools, and machinery.
Tasks:
-Follow blueprints and schematics to determine the location of wiring or equipment for installation and to ensure conformance to design schematics and safety codes.
-Plan installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
-Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring for machineries and equipment, apparatuses or fixtures.
-Place conduit, pipes, or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
-Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors.
-Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
-Use a variety of tools or equipment such as measuring devices and testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps; Standard hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers and hammers; Power tools such as drills and saws; and Electrician tools such as wire cutters, clamps, pliers.
-Perform Routine and on-the-spot tests of all mechanical and electrical systems and circuits regularly and includes testing electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures; using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
-Follow Safety Regulations and responsible for following and maintaining all safety standards and regulations with everything they do.
-Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
-Perform regular maintenance on existing systems and design maintenance schedules for all systems to ensure they remain in proper working order.
-Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
-Troubleshoot and repair motors, mechanical circuits, and all mechanical and electrical systems.
-Track all tools and parts used and new items must be ordered as needed.
-Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.
Qualifications:
-Must have diploma in electrical related field
-Minimum of 5 years experience as Electrical Technician
Skills:
-Attention to detail every single circuit and wire must work properly in order for the electrical system to function, so electrical maintenance technicians must be highly detail-oriented.
-Communication skills electrical maintenance technicians write reports and relay important information to company.
-Knowledge of schematics and blueprints electrical maintenance technicians must know how to properly read electrical schematics and building blueprints.
-Work independently.
-Willingness to work outside work hours such as in weekends.
