We are looking for Operator Scarfer

Job purpose:

Responsible for cutting samples carry out the necessary proof and machine scarfing and surface rectification as directed by the Slab Yard Foreman. Will be required to cut back slabs as instructed, and perform heavy burning work in cases of caster breakouts, etc.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Uses heavy-duty oxy-propane scarfing guns to proof dress slabs and cutting guns to cut scrap according to set procedures.
Operates Auto scarfing machine and scarfing plant facilities.
Carries out rectification work using scarfing guns to remove surface defects from the slab and Updates in the L-3 slab movement.
Uses a portable cutting machine to obtain samples, slitting and cut back slabs to the required customer lengths and widths
