الوصف الوظيفي Duties and Responsibilities: Observe patient condition and record activity level, weight and other vital signs, blood sugar results and other parameters as per competency and training. Report any abnormal findings to the home health physician or staff nurse. Monitor and record intake and output and document findings. Aid patient with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing and following exercise or medication regiments. Assist with toileting, including use of a commode, toilet and bedpan. Aid with ambulation and transfer of patient, including use of a wheelchair, cane and walker. Uses proper infection control principals in all aspects of work for protection of patients, family and self. Applies and changes dressings as required using the correct aseptic technique. Functions calmly, quickly and effectively in any emergency or unforeseen situation. Provides a safe and secure environment for patients. Maintains environment in a comfortable, clean and orderly manner. Uses patience and understanding while working closely with the patient and family. Has continuous contact with the patients throughout the shift and is calm, courteous and tactful at all time. Treats the host family’s cultural values with extreme sensitivity. Maintain confidentiality of patient’s information Log observations of patient health, both physical and mental. Maintain clean and safe environment for the patient Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary plans. Perform light house cleaning duties Coordinates home care nursing with other members of the health care team. Sets priorities of patient’s needs and provides care accordingly. Maintains accurate and complete documentation of the care as per Alfalak Medical Services policy. Observes, recognizes and reports significant patient symptoms to the Home Health-Registered Nurse. Utilize equipment, supplies and medications in a cost effective, responsible manner and reports malfunction, loss or misuse to nursing supervisor. Organizes work to allow adequate time for individual patient needs. Organizes individual patient care in a cost effective manner. Supervises and evaluates the performance of the home help. Reports problems to the Home Health-Registered Nurse. Maintains current knowledge in nursing procedures. Seeks educational opportunities to increase clinical competency. Participates in care conferences and staff meetings. Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting to ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times in conjunction with the organization’s confidentiality policy. Participates in the planning, operation and over-all evaluation of the nursing service. Initiates preventative and rehabilitative procedures as appropriate for the patient’s care and safety, without infringing on the patient’s rights. Maintains orderliness and adequacy of medical supplies and medication. Accepts accountability for clinical care of assigned patient. Ensures all equipment is used safely and correctly. Ensures professional development by taking part in the in-service training program and other further education opportunities to maintain and improve their professional knowledge and competence. Engage in yearly performance reviews, utilizing feedback constructively to improve practice. Requests and obtain supplies, whichever is appropriate, so that an adequate supply is readily available. Ensures patient complaints are dealt with in line with the company’s policy. Ensure that equipment is well maintained and clean. Adhere to strict guidelines regarding safety and adhere to laws and regulations. Perform errands, such as grocery shopping, simple deliveries and transporting patient to appointments. Enhance reputation of the company by providing compassionate, thorough service and taking on new tasks and requests with a helpful attitude. المهارات Education/Professional Licensure Essential General Diploma in Nursing / Diploma in Caregiving/ BSc in Nursing-unlicensed. Heart Saver’s Certification Proficient in English Basic Arabic language skills Desirable Body mechanics certificate Professional Experience (Essential): Essential At least one-year experience in a hospital, healthcare facility or patient resident performing caregiving duties. The successful candidate will demonstrate effective organizational skills, be highly motivated and confident with people, compassionate and respond appropriately to emerging challenges. Desirable 9.2.1 Ability to exert physical effort, standing, lifting, and carrying materials or equipment. Specialized Knowledge (Desirable): Assumes responsibility for own continuing professional development Continually improves conversational Arabic Maintains practice by self study using all means available Utilizes the Educator, Clinician, senior staff and doctors as resource people. Attends Mandatory Study Days (BLS, Fire & Safety, Lifting & Handling) Expected work skills Unit Specific as per annual checklist Communicates well in both written and verbal English. Maintains all aspects of confidentiality, patient and colleague Is aware of the impact of body language and maintains a quiet polite demeanor. Follows correct chain of command (see organizational chart) when making requests or for conflict resolution and such.
