الوصف الوظيفي Provides technical and clinical support to anaesthesia care providers with in the Department of Anaesthesia. Responds immediately to Operating Room calls that request assistance regarding anaesthesia supplies, pharmaceuticals, blood products, forms, equipment or other items required during the surgical procedure. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintaining appropriate stock levels within the anaesthesia induction room and trolley and ensure availability and readiness of all equipment and instrumentation before anesthesia commences in all cases. Ensure that all incidents are immediately reported to the Head of Anesthesia and make sure appropriate action is taken. Respond immediately and effectively to any emergency situation including code blue. Apply high level of cleanliness of used or contaminated equipment (laryngoscope blades, mask etc.) prior to be sending to CSSD for processing. Completely performs hemodynamic monitoring as requested by the Anesthesiologist. Develop and maintain good professional team work by performing all duties in positive attitude and confidential manner. Responsible for troubleshooting, as well as performing minor repairs to the anesthesia related equipment. Provides pre-operative and intra-operative patient care regarding anesthesia preparation and induction. Actively participate in assisting the Anaesthetist in the case of critically sick and neonatal patients within the department. Operating and troubleshooting anesthesia machines, monitors and other devices within the department. Participate and help the anesthetist to establish invasive monitoring lines (Arterial & CVP), spinal, epidural and nerve block. Participate in intra departmental educational activities. Assemble, dismantle and handle anesthesia equipment according to Safety and Infection Control policies and procedures. Performs routine monitoring duties, documentation and program modifications and interfaces with vendors as required regarding pending issues, and coordinate equipment service. Accepts the patient in Operating Room after checking of identification and legal requests. Assists the anaesthetist during induction and reversal of anaesthesia and should be available during maintenance of anaesthesia at all times. Provides 24-hour emergency on call coverage in anaesthesia on a rotational basis. During weekend duty cleaning and sterilizing equipment, calibrating of monitoring equipment, stocking of different items, etc. is done according to instructions. Participate and help the anaesthetist in resuscitation of the patient and whenever he/she is being called upon - (Code Blue). Participate with the anaesthetist in transporting patients in a safe and timely manner according to department protocol. Assists the surgical team in the event of any complications arising in anesthetics, or emergency conditions. Share actively in patient & family education in collaborative with all related other healthcare givers. Performs the duties necessary to support and achieve accreditation and assures that facility is in compliance with all government, local laws, and accreditation standards in relation to healthcare Through the chain of command and/or occurrence variance report, identifies any occurrence not consistent with the operation of the hospital or standard of service for patients, employees or visitors and situations that put patients, staff or visitors at risk for injury or other harm. Perform other applicable tasks assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and ability. Bachelor Degree in Anesthesia Technology. Maintains a valid Saudi Commission for Health Specialties License Anesthesiology Specialist. Must have valid ACLS. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two (2) years’ related experience. SPECIALISED KNOWLEDGE: He/she must be able to deal with unusual situations arising from remote location and widely varying ethnic, cultural, educational and religious backgrounds among patients and co-workers. Oral and written English is required to carry out duties properly and promptly and be familiar with names of the anesthesia equipment, pharmacological agents and surgical procedures and medical terminology. Must be emotionally stable and in good physical health.
