Principal Architect - TSS

الوصف الوظيفي
Member of Technical Support Section of the Engineering Department professional staff supporting all Jazan projects.  Reports professionally to the TSS Section manager.  Interfaces with project management staff, other engineering disciplines and other Royal Commission Departments and construction contractor representatives.
Major Activities Performed:
Perform architectural work to meet the overall city development program requirements and standards.
Review A/E contractor design drawings, specifications, and calculation submittals; and, coordinate the same with the work of other disciplines.
Coordinate Architectural/Engineering activities with those of other disciplines and project management team within the Engineering Department; and, also Royal Commission Departments as and where necessary.
Provide technical advice to other sections and Departments within the Royal Commission.
Prepares proposals for design work including sketches and cost estimates for labor, equipment, and materials.
Process submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFI’s.
Prepare technical specifications, conceptual schemes and scope of work descriptions.
Prepare Request for Proposal (RFP) documents with design concepts.
Provide technical assistance during pre-bid conferences, proposal evaluations, and post-award or other contract conferences and value engineering.
Review vendor and shop drawings, and construction materials.
Perform field inspections and provide professional field support and construction trouble shooting as necessary during construction phases.
Perform forensic support work and offer cost effective optimal remedial solutions. 
Assist in setting out Quality Control (QC) terms related to architectural construction materials and their correct usage.
Prepare interface layouts and provide solutions for conflicts.
Prepare quality and presentation conscious technical correspondence, reports, and studies.

المهارات
A recognized western university degree in Architecture (B.Arch.) with 15 years post-graduate professional experience.  Masters Degree (MArch) desirable.
Design experience related to large scale community development with emphasis on urban development is desirable.
Western registration in the discipline (chartered status membership) of the appropriate Institution is required.
A minimum of 3-5 years working professional experience at the Gulf Countries preferred.
LEED certification is preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English is essential.
Proved record of technical and administrative ability in projects & design management.
Specific technical qualifications for the requisitioned position are identified below: In depth working knowledge of US Architectural and Building Codes. Extensive experience with building use classifications and analysis for fire safety and life safety codes. Extensive experience leading design teams on complex large scale building projects Extensive experience with indoor finished and materials for commercial and public buildings Strong/working experience of AutoCAD. BIM experience is desirable.
PMP or equivalent is preferred
