Technical skills: Data analysts work with several different types of technology and must be able to use this technology to find and interpret data, organize databases and keep track of data sets. Common programming languages data analysts use include SQL and Python.
Analytical skills: Data analysts must be able to effectively find, collect, organize and interpret various types of data as well as present this data in a way that is easy to understand.
Teamwork skills: These professionals often work with other employees within their organization to formulate interpretations of data that they can turn into actionable plans to improve their company. Being able to collaborate with several individuals on a project is an important part of this job.
Leadership skills: These professionals are often responsible for leading projects related to data, so they must have strong leadership skills and the ability to make important decisions. They must also present themselves in a professional manner, especially when relaying data-related findings to stakeholders.
