The Chairperson has reporting accountability to:
Administrative: Director, Ancillary or Clinical Services has responsibility for the professional development of allocated Allied Health staff e.g., job families, job descriptions, competencies and training.
Operational: Director Medical Service. An MD with responsibility for the operational delivery and integration of the allocated medical service.
To realize the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Vision 2030 the Chairperson supports the Director. Working within a framework established by the Cluster, the Chairperson is responsible to develop, execute, resource and direct the department operation in accordance with corporate strategic objectives, Health Network annual operating plan and the requirements of budget, quality, accreditation and clinical practice standards.
The Chairperson will be accountable for the delivery of the following objectives:
Develops the department operations plan and related goals and objectives to align with the overall plan of Health Network.
Provides quarterly reports on the progress and accomplishment of the goals and objectives.
Prepares and manages annual operating budget of the department and ensure efficient and cost effective operation within allocated resources, in accordance with outcomes defined by the Health Network Executive Director Medical and Clinical Affairs.
Ensure the center/service compliance regarding the development and implementation of all requirements and standards pertaining to Joint Commission International (JCI) and the Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI).
Organizes, oversees, maintains and monitors clinical services and programs, including accreditation, of the department to ensure the provision of the highest quality of care and patient safety.
Ensures adequate and uninterrupted supervision and coverage of all components of the department at all times.
Monitors and evaluates the adequacy of all components of the department.
Prepares annual capital equipment budget for the medical and clinical units associated with the department, in conjunction with other services, where applicable.
Ensure implementation, monitoring and compliance with the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff.
Implements and monitors the Ongoing Professional Performance Evaluation (OPPE) programs adopted by the Health Network to ensure medical and clinical staff compliance with regulatory licensing, certification, accreditation bodies, and other legal requirements and further ensure that all staff members participate in continuing education programs.
Formulates recommendation/s for the reappointment, promotion or sanction of any member of the Department, based on the findings of the ongoing professional practice evaluation.
Recommends appointment of leadership positions, as required within the department
Ensures development and implementation of all requirements pertaining to Health Network policies and procedures, quality management processes and Joint Commission International (JCI) and Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) accreditation.
Performs clinical duties and actively engages in clinical practices.
Participates in ongoing educational programs to ensure maintenance and improvement of clinical capabilities.
On an emergency basis will undertake any additional responsibilities as directed by the director.
Maintains confidentiality relating to all matters dealt within the department.
Uses great discretion at all times and ensure that no confidential material is disclosed from the department to unauthorized members of staff.
Follows all Health Network–related policies and procedures.
Participates in emergency and disaster procedures. Performs other duties within the realm of his/her knowledge and ability as required.

Education:
Preferred: PhD
Masters in Allied Health specialism
Evidence of leadership professional development
Experience:
Eight (8) years of progressive experience in an acute healthcare setting.
Five (5) years plus of middle management experience in the healthcare industry
Experience of driving operational performance to improve affairs of dental care
Led a unit to enhance medical services e.g. writing scope of services, job descriptions, credentialing, performance evaluation criteria and writing policies
Managed clinical initiatives which involved coordinating across different professional groups and health systems
Demonstrable track record of achievement in the areas of quality, patient safety and patient experience
