المهارات
•diagnose, handle, examine and treat birds, cats and dogs
•carry out tests such as x-rays, blood tests and endoscopy.
•can perform surgery for birds, cats and dogs (or any of them)
•can distinguish between different bird and parrot species and consider their differences in treatment and requirements (such as food requirements and quantities)
•can prescribe treatments and medications in the right amounts for each animal and specie type
•working on-call for emergency cases
•knowing the laws surrounding animals and their welfare
•facing a number of ethical considerations, such as deciding whether to put an animal to sleep, cut a bird’s wings and trim their beaks
•dealing with uncooperative animals and owners
•research diseases, test and manage infection outbreaks, investigate food safety issues and always stay up to date about food and treatment knowledge
