The following is a description of the activities for the Mechanical Supervisor. This includes the current views for the activities. It can be amended at any time to include other activities that can be reasonably expected from the Mechanical Supervisor or to change current activities to meet new business or statutory requirements.
The Mechanical Supervisor is expected to perform the following tasks and duties:
• Act as project leader for assigned field service activities including but not limited to work team leader on site
• Participation in site planning meetings to coordinate daily work
• Supervision and instruction of the local workers on correct turbo machinery equipment installation giving advice/instruction on specific tasks
• Hands-on work on critical tasks such as casing and rotor lifting, bearing and other clearance measuring, seals and coupling installation
• Performing/witness of coupling alignments
• Check/witness of process pipe connections to turbo machinery casings
• Quality and mechanical functional checks after installation of equipment
• Logging of all quality related activities in checklists and protocols
• Completing all reporting, protocols, variation reports, time sheets and other administrative work
• Keeping a daily log of work done, and any problems encountered
• Arrange and prepare tools, equipment, fixtures, etc. as required for the field service project during assignment to avoid any delays due to unavailability of such
• provide basic hands on training for customer and subcontractor personnel
• Ensure achieving commercial success of the job, through effective planning and detailed recording of variations from agreed work scope.
• Administrate all logistics activities on site including tools & consumables purchasing, transportation, accommodation, etc. for field service work team.
• Assist in identification and clarification of work scope proposals and/or projections of field service job and perform site surveys.
• Coordinate for trouble shooting and problem solving during assignment on site
• Coordinate communication with third party and/or customer on site
• Reporting incidents and accidents without delay to the clients.
• Keeping a daily log of work done and any problems encountered.
• Submitting variation reports right after completion of work on site.
• Submitting Field Service Report right after completion of work on site.
• Completing all other documentation applicable to each Work Activity.
• The Mechanical Supervisor shall also provide tuition and hands on training for less experienced team members.
Requirements:
• Language Fluency: Speak, read and write in Arabic and English.
• Regional candidate preferred.
