Production Manager (Heavy Steel Fabrication)

· Provide effective leadership and ensure that production strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of cost, quality and delivery targets and which enables the SAMIF to function and compete effectively in the market
· Establish, develop and approve creative and innovative production governance framework including (processes, procedures, policy, guidelines, deviation mitigation strategy, work instructions, master files, and validation reports, forms and templates, KPIs and any other documents relevant to management activities.
· Manage, monitor and review all production activities and establish production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
· Lead and support operations to resolve technical issues, ensuring all investigation work is documented, by developing robust production processes and improving product designs, with the aim to reduce cost and improve reliability, while complying with current quality standards.
· Proactively work with QHSE, projects and engineering teams to incorporate best practices into the manufacturing environment.
· Coordinate with safety team to ensure that the factory operates in accordance with all relevant health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors.
· Develop and manage master production schedule and operations budgets for products to directly support and ensure that the product is delivered to agreed cost, quality and timelines
· Manage and guide Production Planning Team (PPT) to ensure the optimum utilization of production capacity is achieved, by proper scheduling of the machine items which reduces the idle time as well as over use.
· Coordinate with procurement division and warehouse to confirm right quantity and quality of raw material, equipment, etc. are available during times of production.
· Operate a process for safe selection of external contractors in conjunction with the procurement and quality teams in addition to ensuring all external maintenance contracts are regularly reviewed to ensure best value.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
· Drive improvements in reliability for key aspects of machinery by completing reliability studies and identifying best planned utilization and maintenance strategy.
· Plan and execute maintenance activity to ensure that all production units and machines are kept safe and in compliance with applicable industry standards.
· Communicate with stakeholders the impact of technology change and potential effects on supply in addition to recommend solutions without compromising quality or production time while optimizing cost.
· Contribute to new business initiatives and projects in addition to review and communicate the impact on manufacturing activities.
· Report on production activities on a regular basis to the Operations Management, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the relevant Key Performance Indicators.
· Establish strategy and best practices for staff to ensure achievement of overall business objectives in addition to working with the production team to translate production strategy into specific annual performance goals and divisional objectives including KPIs, and to track them
· Drive process improvements by undertaking detailed analysis using statistical methods, providing relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to evidence process weakness and measure improvement whilst proposing and implementing corrective actions
· Responsible for developing the appropriate organizational structure, resource plans and culture to support the business objectives and customer deliverables
· Provide leadership, coordination and coaching to the team, ensuring they are trained enabling them to achieve the operational and financial metrics within their areas of responsibility and succeed in their roles
· Provide leadership to departments under control and coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value and cost reductions
· Ensure strong communication between teams under leadership to facilitate exchange of information and in order to implement change and improvements
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by higher management
المهارات
• Bachelor’s degree in production, Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. (Essential)
• Master of Engineering in Manufacturing. (Desirable)
• Post-graduate programs and/or other advanced management programs / certifications. (Desirable)
• Ten to fifteen years of progressive experience in a relevant position managing Production in a steel fabrication corporation. (Desirable)
