Accountabilities:
Prepare and execute the departmental budget for staffing, consumables, new testing equipment, …
Lead the implementation of the quality assurance systems and procedures throughout the operation. This includes the use of control charting and systematic monitoring and documentation of critical control point variability
Ensure that the standard company procedures for the management of raw materials (ingredients and packaging) supply, specifications, approval and rejection criteria, supplier selection, qualification and disqualification are in place and followed
Provide formal and informal training to the operation in the prevention and resolution of product quality issues, and in the reduction of process variability
Coordinate inter-laboratory comparisons with the PI laboratories to ensure alignment in terms of accuracy and precision
Conduct GMP/quality audits of all facilities (plants, warehouse, co-packers..) and develop corrective action with the management
team. Follow-up timely implementation of plans
Conduct monthly quality performance reviews with senior management and ensure alignment and correct prioritization of improvement activities and initiatives
Ensure a system is in place and personnel are trained for the proper handling and tracking of consumer / customer complaints and crisis management
Lead syrup manufacturing, water treatment, laboratory operations and line proportioning
Keep the organization informed on applicable regulations regarding food laws, waste discharge and disposal restrictions
Ensure safe operating conditions exist throughout the process and laboratory areas. Promptly correct any unsafe conditions
Manage the formal release of raw and packaging materials for use in production and the release of finished products for distribution to the trade
Manage line performance trials for the introduction of new formulation or packaging to ensure quality standards are maintained
Assure that the quality department staff and the personnel conducting quality tests are competent and proficient at performing
their tasks. This includes line visual inspectors. Ensure that the organization stays current on laboratory techniques and instrumentation so it is adequately equipped to perform the required tests to the appropriate degree of accuracy and precision
Utilize visual factory concepts to control and organize the work
Establish individual accountability using coaching and support, and performance management process
Responsible for the selection, on-boarding and recommending for termination of quality personnel

Syrup yields
Skills & Qualifications:
Degree in biochemical / chemical or food technology field
Proficient with computer, usage of excel, work, PowerPoint
Firm foundation in the application of problem solving tools, statistical techniques, ISO 22000 and HACCP systems
Knowledge of production and filling in beverage industry (3-4 years experience)
Strong communication skills in English and Arabic
