Position Summary

Develops, manages and leads population health research and related projects. This role is also involved in education/community programs as deemed appropriate.

Job Responsibilities

Provides strong analytical abilities and familiarity with population health research and development processes.
Coordinates population health research projects management life cycle including initiation, proposal development, Institutional Review Board (IRB) submission, and supports implementation and coordination of research and related projects.
Troubleshoots or makes recommendations to resolve issues with ongoing research and related projects.
Provides support for the implementation of a training plan, recruitment of trainers, orientation of project coordinators to health care centers, recruitment sites and field sites as required.
Trains the team with respect to facility, project and interview protocol, interview techniques, data handling procedures and data analysis process.
Coordinates and facilitates research based on appropriate methodology. Formulates qualitative and quantitative research plans, designs research questionnaires, develops research instruments and moderator guides.
Reviews research related fieldwork and validates collected data. Analyzes and interprets research data as directed.
Liaises within WCM-Q and with Hamad Medical Corporation, Ministry of Public Health, Primary Health Care Centers in Qatar and others as necessary.
Regularly meets with stakeholders, including research constituents, collaborators, and research study teams, to collect and communicate project requirements and escalate any issues.
Under direction and guidance, manages research project timelines to ensure projects are completed within the specified timeline and identifies and reports on research and related project dependencies.
Supports the achievement of research and project management deliverables, including project plans and research schedules, and progress reports.
Develops and authors abstracts, research reports and proposals, academic publications, magazine articles, podcasts, social media content, blogs, etc. as directed for print, electronic and web-based communication.
Partakes in IPH education and community programs as directed. Mentors students/junior staff members as directed.
Performs other job-related duties as required.

Education

Medical Degree (MD or MBBS)
Experience

Medical Degree (MD or MBBS) with Masters degree in Public Health or PhD in a Health Science or related discipline.
3-5 years of prior research experience in Qatar or any other comparable country.
Proficient in spoken and written English and Arabic (preferably).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proactive problem solver with superb planning, coordination, and management/ project management skills.
Strong analytical and presentation skills along with the ability to lead and mentor.
Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals, and reports and articles of publishable quality.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced level proficiency in MS Suite of products including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
