BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
The incumbent will work with the wider PPF Division, the Dubai-based Partnership and Communication team managing partnerships in the Gulf region (GCC), Regional Bureaus, Country Offices and Technical Units to support the execution of the WFP private sector partnerships and fundraising strategy in the GCC.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Manage strategic planning processes: Develop and promote a dedicated Regional Private Sector Partnership and Fundraising Strategy and Forecasts for the GCC.
Nurture market knowledge: Compile relevant market insights and intelligence on local philanthropic trends, existing partners and key prospects in the GCC, producing regular briefs for senior leadership.
Coordinate efforts with the GCC team: Work with WFP’s GCC Partnership and Communication team to collect relevant market insight, engage prospects and promote partners’ contributions to Zero Hunger.
Manage existing partnerships: Cultivate key relationships, monitor delivery of support to meet potential and existing partner needs, expectations, and priorities, and oversee all internal and external activities tied to meeting partner requirements, including reporting.
Identify and profile key prospects: Work collaboratively with your team to selectively identify, research, and screen potential partners - including foundations and corporations - to then develop a pipeline of key prospects through relationship and network mapping.
Lead the pitch processes: Collaborate with other areas across the organization to develop effective “pitch” materials and proposals for successful approaches to engage identified prospects, as well as materials to support senior leadership meetings with prospects and potential partners.
Secure partnerships: Prepare for negotiations with new partners, lead the negotiations, agree on partnership expectations and secure contracts.
Support individual fundraising: Serve as the main point of contact to support individual fundraising efforts in the GCC, providing strategic and legal advice to WFP’s Individual Giving and ShareTheMeal teams and working with partners and local authorities to ensure full compliance with local laws.

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Advanced University degree in Political Science, International Development, Development Economics, International Relations, Law, Marketing, Communications or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses.
Language: Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic (fluency/level C knowledge).
At least 5 years of postgraduate professional experience in relevant fields of work, with a background and interest in cause-driven multi-sectoral partnerships, fundraising, community engagement, corporate social responsibility, emergency response, development programmes and other related.
Experience in developing and managing private sector partnerships and fundraising initiatives to support the work of another nonprofit organization.
Strong understanding of the philanthropic trends and parameters specific to the GCC, including Islamic philanthropy and fundraising laws.
Recent experience in partnering/working with local GCC foundations and charities.
Outstanding research and analytical skills, with an ability to synthesize information across various sources and articulate findings and recommendations into clear written and oral presentations.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to cultivate relationships across varying levels of seniority, internally and externally.
Ability to work fast and independently and set priorities.
