Duties & Responsibilities: The Accessibility Services Coordinator is a professional, academic focused position that will be responsible for coordinating the provision of academic accommodations and other accessibility related services to students and applicants. Interpreting a variety of assessments associated with accessibility supports including psycho-educational, neurological, visual, mental, health, and hearing, etc. The successful candidate will also be consulting with internal and external stakeholders in relation to accessibility services to ensure the needs of students are met. Other duties include responding to inquiries regarding CNA-Q’s accessibility services; providing orientation to students; providing support for program choice and career suitability with students, partnering with other community agencies to ensure the needs of students are met; developing and promoting accessibility awareness within the CNA-Q community. The position duties also include collecting and reviewing assessment documents to determine eligibility for accessibility services. المهارات Education and Certifications: Education, general: Accessibility Service Coordinators are professional educators who hold, at minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with emphasis on special education/disabilities (e.g. Special education degree or equivalent). Education, special or professional: Additional qualifications related to education and/or disabilities at the Master’s level would be preferred. Experience: Experience: Accessibility Service Coordination’s must have knowledge and experience working with students with wide variety of disabilities, standardized assessment instruments, teaching, and adaptive technology. Language: Fluency in written and spoken English is required Fluency in written and spoken Arabic is preferred Other Required Skills: Accessibility Service Coordinators must be able to work autonomously in delivering services related to their role. They must also be a team player. This position has a high level of responsibility in terms of decisions regarding individual students (e.g. accommodations) and regarding the institution as a whole (e.g. departmental procedures).
