Assistant Manager (Maintenance)

Duties & responsibilities include but not limited to:
 Provide day to day managerial direction to mechanics to ensure smooth operations in the garage in a timely manner
 Receive guidance from the Manager to plan the day’s work and priority levels of assigned work
 Implement administrative procedures and operating quality control checks to monitor terminal activities and associated costs according to plan
 Jointly responsible for repair and maintenance of a fleet of around 300 having equipment’s such as small forklifts, cranes, small power lifts, container handling equipment’s, heavy lifts etc.
 Receive calls for machine breakdown incidents and ensure timely help for its repair
 Supervise the entire process of repair from start to end
 Direct the supervisors to adhere to the correct process and procedures for repair documentation such as Job cards opening etc.
 Document the maintenance schedule of equipment’s and ensure that they undergo checks in a timely fashion
 Technically help the mechanics in machine repairs when required
 Ensuring timely completion of work and adherence to safety and quality
 Possess knowledge of replacements and coordinate with the purchase department to identify substitutes
 Ensure safety of garage and workers and monitoring if all safety requirements are being adhered to
 Plan time to time training in safety, technical product information in liaison with QHSE
 Coordinate any electrical/plumber activity as required by the company
 Responsible for staff development activities comprising of supporting recruitment, team development and complaint resolution, set KPI’s for direct reports and conduct performance appraisal and also drive motivation levels of direct reports
 Assist the management in the fulfillment of its obligations, statutory or otherwise, concerning prevention of personal injuries.
