Job Purpose: To manage the day to day operations of the assigned section; organize fabrication, repair, maintenance and overhauling of all mechanical parts used in the plant and in other mechanical equipment installed in the various plants, Al Khalij labor camp in accordance with overall maintenance plans to support achievement of the maintenance department goals and objectives, ensuring adherence to HSE guidelines.  Job responsibilities:  Supervision of Subordinates
Organize and supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of the mechanical section activity is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy.
Provide on-the-job training and constructive feedback to subordinates to support their overall development.
Budgets and Plans
Monitor the financial performance of a given area of activity versus budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
Assist the Mechanical/Electrical in Charge with the monthly review of expenses to identify the variance against budget to support effective alignment with the approved levels.
Resource Planning
Participate in identifying and planning for resources, material/equipment required for any mechanical maintenance and management activities according to preventive maintenance schedule, work requisitions or notifications in urgent and emergency situations and coordinate for the timely availability of all requirements.
Carry out effective day- to- day scheduling of works and necessary resources while assigning and reviewing work performed by craftsmen to ensure adherence to defined operational requirements and quality standards.
Operational Management
Organize fabrication, replacement parts, equipment, tools, or fixtures for all sections of the plant in order to ensure the smooth operation of the plant.
Lead the day to day monitoring of mechanical maintenance activities as planned ensuring safe and quality execution of maintenance work in accord with defined HSE standards.
Optimize maintenance operations, using best available tools and procedures in order to maximize equipment availability and efficiency of the labour.
Inspect, test and validate the condition of equipment upon completion of repairs to confirm readiness, compliance to quality standards.
Ensure seamless communication across shifts and updating self of the status of plant requirements while managing resources for timely availability of “on-call” duty to support uninterrupted operations and manage emergency maintenance requirements.

Implement departmental policies, systems and procedure so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment
Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management procedures and controls within a defined area of activity to guarantee employee safety, compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Lead and ensure the safe storage and disposal of replaced spares in accord with established HSE standards and guidelines.
Project Management
Provide engineering assistance to the project team for design and specifications of new equipment, modifications or projects ensuring adoption of best fitted industry practices to facilitate effective achievement of project requirements.
Site Inspections
Perform site inspections on regular basis to follow-up on work progress of all mechanical engineering aspects ensuring that work progress is carried out as per approved work schedule, and that appropriate resources are allocated as per the contractual agreement.
Statement and Reports
Prepare departmental statements and reports timely and accurately to meet QIG and department requirements, policies and standards.

Job-Specific Skills:
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance operations.
Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and motor circuits.
Knowledge of gearboxes, transmissions, welding techniques, lubrication, non-destructive test and general mechanics.
Knowledge in local safety rules and regulations.
Knowledge of quality management methods (ISO 9002)
Knowledge of cement process is desirable
Knowledge of preventative/predictive maintenance theory.
