Electrical Technician- Water reservoir & pumping station

Job Description:
Carries out regular routine and breakdown maintenance of electrical control circuits, soft starter, variable frequency drive unit, PF capacitor unit UPS systems, microprocessor based control system MV switchboard, air circuit breakers, AMF panel, AC/DC fixed and variable speed motors, valve actuators, submersible pumps & associated protection equipment, cranes, electrical equipment, etc., related to Reservoir and pump stations, water well fields and RO plants, etc.
Major Duties and Job Responsibilities:
• Attend On-Call duty (Round the clock) for any emergency problems related to electrical equipment.
• Assist his foreman in troubleshooting and fault-finding procedures.
• Assist other section foreman & technician in completing combined works.
• Prepare spare requirement to Foreman & Engineer and withdraw it from the stores.
• Assist his foreman in inspection of contractor’s works.
• Performs other related duties as needed upon request by the immediate supervisor
Qualification Requirements:
• Three Years Diploma in Electrical Engineering + 5 years experience
OR
Trade Certificate Holder with 8 years experience in utility/ water plant. Kahramaa/ DEWA experience is preferred.
Work Environment
• Extensive traveling between Kahramaa sites, depots, reservoirs, pump stations during normal and or outside office hours.
• 90% Site work, 10% Office Work.

• Preparation of work related reports.
• Carries out regular routine maintenance of all electrical equipment.
• Working up to 11 KV.
• Working in open desert area & climbing on water towers up to 50 meter height.
• Working in chemical surroundings
• Exposure in the field of maintenance of switchgears, Motor Control Centre, different types of motor & starters, overhauling of Motors, trouble shooting of PLC & Relay logic control system, UPS system, Electrical overhead cranes and repairs of electrical equipment’s of Pumping stations and RO Plant for up to 11 KV.

• Good in speaking, reading, and writing of English for manual readings and communication purposes.
• Knowledge of the Reservoir Pumping Station Operation Systems & associated equipment.
• Able to read and understand Electrical & instrumentation as-built drawings, schematic control drawings, Operation and maintenance manuals and procedure.
• Be able to work with people or group.
• Know all safety aspects of the work to prevent accidents.
Qatari driving license preferred.
• Fully aware of safety requirements, international standards and KAHRAMAA regulations.
• Ability to work onsite independently
• The routine & corrective maintenance to be carried out by respective Technicians as per Kahramaa guidelines and prudent operation and maintenance practices.
