The UNIX Administrator is responsible for managing UNIX infrastructures span across multiple sites. The responsibilities include administrating the day-to-day technical activities related to maintaining reliable and effective UNIX environments responsive to the requirements of Information Systems.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manage UNIX Infrastructure hosting 180+ Production, DR and UAT Servers.
2. Experience with TCP/IP & general networking principles
3. Manage Volume Management on UNIX systems (lvm, zfs, nfs, raid, package management, performance tuning, kernel tuning) and managing the systems to ensure meet the SLA.
4. Managing Apache, Tomcat, Oracle Weblogic, NagiosXI Application and providing the support.
5. Perform annual DR Failover and failback for VMware Infrastructure servers using VMware site recovery Manager and Unix Physical Servers using SAN Replication.
6. Manage the latest Unix technologies are being implemented at IT Infrastructure through continuous fine-tuning and frequent enhancements
7. Storage Allocation and Migration with different EMC Storage systems
8. Oracle RAC server build and clustering Configuration and managing the systems and performing regular health checks.
9. Managing and handling various tools on Linux (Splunk, NetBackup, tomcat, apache, weblogic etc)
10. Working on Data Center related activities , coordinating with vendor for any hardware replacement or installing new devices and on Hardware in DC
11. Hardening the System based on CIS benchmark and ensure meeting as per InfoSec standards.
12. Identify manual task and automate of the daily activities using bash/awk shell scripting
13. Debugging issues and provide permanent fix to maintain stable environment.
14. Performing ON-call support on production environment to ensure maintain and meet the SLA.
15. Working with development/application teams to troubleshoot application issues, network issues and application performance tuning.
16. Handle hardware issues for disk, memory, CPU, NIC, HBA and coordinating with vendor to fix it with in the SLA.
17. Performing firmware upgrades on HP blades and Enclosures and OD kernel patching on UNIX servers.
18. Coordinate with vendors, technology partners in selecting new solutions and maintaining the existing devices
19. Coordinate and facilitate with other departments within the bank in their project implementations to ensuring proper security measures are in place
20. Familiarity with Business Continuity Planning
21. Extend support for Internal and external audits

Education:
· University Degree (IT)
· Professional Certifications
o Redhat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
Work experience:
8 years of Systems Administration experience
Professional experience:
§ Expert in UNIX / Linux Systems administration
§ Experience in the following technologies:
o Linux Installation / Configuration / Hardening / Troubleshooting
o Oracle Solaris installation / Configuration / Hardening / Troubleshooting
o RAID Concepts
o BIND DNS, DHCP, SFTP, SMTP (Sendmail / Postfix)
o Nagios Monitoring
o Apache Tomcat, Apache Web Server
o Splunk (Basic level)
o Oracle Database Installation (Not Mandatory)
o Oracle Weblogic Administration
o Remote Server Management Tools like iLO, DRAC, ALOM, XSCF, etc.
o Shell Scripting
o Ansible, Gitlab
o Docker
o Redhat satellite Administration
§ Working knowledge of event, incident & problem management processes and tools
