Job purpose:
To assess, plan, train, Test, implement, evaluate, and optimize nursing informatics projects set by the Manager with utmost efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, selects, tests, Trains, implements, and evaluates new or modified informatics solutions, data structures, and decision-support mechanisms to support patients, health care professionals, and their information management and human-computer and human-technology interactions within health care contexts.
Analyses system design, develops system specifications, and participates in the building and testing of the new systems and installation of new upgrades.
Participates in the information data gathering activities for model development.
Plans, organizes, and facilitates process to support physicians in the development of order sets and physician documentation.
Plans, organizes, and facilitates process to support RNs and disciplines to develop content for clinical documentation tolls such as assessments, flowsheets, care plans and patient education tools.
Assesses content implementation strategies and the impact of these strategies on workflow and operations.
Documents the current and future state workflows that are impacted by clinical documentation.
Understands how content and functionality impact practice workflow.
Contributes to policy and procedure development that will be used in conjunction with the orders and clinical documentation application.
Accurately and promptly analyses the impact of information technology in clinical work processes.
Communicates issues/topics with team members, nursing leadership, and IT Department.
Translates nursing practice information between nurses and systems engineers, analysts, or developer using object-oriented models or other techniques.
Uses informatics science to design or implement health information technology applications to resolve clinical or health care administrative problems.
Responds appropriately and timely to requests and concerns from users or others affected by the systems.
Provides input into the development and implementation of the department’s policies, systems, processes, and procedures and identifies potential areas of improvement and links it to clinical information technology applications to support an efficient and effective operation.
Contributes to the development and execution of the department’s short to mid-term plans to ensure alignment with the division’s strategic priorities and contribute to the development of annual business plans for the assigned areas of responsibility to support the achievement of financial objectives.
Monitors, controls, and reports key performance indicators related to the department, to track performance and recommend corrective actions.
Manages the performance management, career progression and activities of direct reports by setting annual objectives, identifying training opportunities, mentoring, coaching, and providing constructive feedback to improve their performance.
Contributes with ideas that support an efficient and effective structure and resource allocation for the department, to ensure smooth workflow of operational processes and optimal utilization of resources.
Provides input into the preparation and consolidation of the department’s budget, monitors financial performance during the year, identifies areas of unsatisfactory performance (if any), and recommends mitigating actions.
Ensures compliance with all relevant HSE&E;and QM policies, procedures, and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality service standards and a responsible environmental attitude.
Participates in developing, testing, and implementing HIS and all clinical applications, with the clinical team and IT department as a part of the project, to support an efficient and effective operation.

Education requirements
Graduate degree in Nursing/IT/Technology (Essential) | Postgraduate degree/Diploma in Nursing Informatics (Preferred).
Certification(s) in Nursing Informatics (Preferred).
Language requirements
English – Fluent (Required) | Arabic – Fluent (Preferred)
Experience
Knowledge and Skills
Minimum 8 years of experience in Nursing Informatics(required).
Minimum 3 years in GCC (preferred).
Strong Knowledge of the Nursing/ Healthcare industry.
In-depth knowledge of hospital informatics procedures
Outstanding IT management skills.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Great organizational and time management skills.
Problem solver with a positive attitude.
Knowledgeable about all components of
orders and clinical documentation content.
