Act as the functional head of the hse department with responsibility for the development and management of all group hse activities relating to the application of the approved hse management system and hse procedures for all group companies and subsidiaries
Develop, seek approval for, and monitor the implementation and maintenance of the group management system, hse manual and hse programs for all projects and facilities.
Act as the interface with senior management on matters of group hse to ensure relevance and importance of hse management system requirements are fully understood and that the hse programs are implemented and adhered to.
Develop, implement and administer hse training and development programs, including the hse curriculum, for the motivation of personnel and ensure that competent staff are assigned for functional activities.
Develop, co-ordinate and administer hse leadership training for senior management to reinforce hse awareness and maintaining of hse management system and standards.
Develop, approve and monitor the implementation of the group hse management system and hse structure to ensure a standardised approach on all group companies
Develop and implement hse awareness and hse incentive programs for projects to motivate staff and increase hse awareness.
Conduct site audits and visits to all group projects and facilities to ensure compliance with hse requirements and hse management system. Identify, rectify and follow-up on non-compliances and detected irregularities and make changes to procedures where needed.
Identify hse staff recruitment and competence for group companies and subsidiaries
Setting safety goals and hold people accountable to them.
Conducting both face-to-face and online safety training.
Putting appropriate safety controls in place
Delivering a variety of training courses to managers and employees within the company.
Creating a safer working environment
Creating and maintaining a climate in which individuals feel safety has high value.
Revising procedures and regulations to ensure that they are up to date.
Ensuring that all accidents and near misses are reported and investigated in accordance with the companies’ policies.
Explaining complex procedures and regulations in easy to understand terms to members of staff.
Investigating issues of non-compliance.
Filing appropriate compliance reports with regulatory agencies.
Reporting any workplace violations of compliance standards to senior managers and enforcement agencies.
Highlighting and escalating any areas of concern to senior management
Identifying opportunities for continuous safety improvement within the workplace.
Contacting and liaising with external bodies such as local authorities and specialist groups on health and safety issues.
Scheduling, managing, and chairing regular meetings of the HSE Committee.
المهارات
Formal occupational health and safety qualifications ( e.g. NEBOSH diploma)
University degree from a recognized university:
Proficient in English, written and spoken
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in developing and improving HSE systems
Knowledge of HSE system standards, such as ISO, OHSAS, or similar.
Experienced in the collection of accident and incident data, the calculation of performance measures, and preparation of reports for senior management.
Demonstrated performance of improving HSE outcomes for organizations
Experience in implementing safety systems
5 years’ Experience of working in Qatar
