Job Description
We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Middle East LLC Qatar for:

ASSISTANT FIRE & GAS TECHNICIAN

This position is a unique opportunity to conduct preventive / corrective & Breakdown maintenance as and when required as per the instruction from the superiors. To perform essential job functions such as: respond to, repair, and/or aid others in breakdowns.

Your main duties will be:

• Shall able to quickly learn new software applications used by company. Must be able to read and understand P&ID;’s, Loop drawings, location drawing and other technical documentations.
• Shall able to show commitment to compliance with applicable local laws and regulations, an unwavering commitment to safety and health and other company policies and procedures. Ability in the care and use of all site specific, facility and required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
• Shall able to read and interpret technical procedures, safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively interact with and develop and keep dedicated support and credibility with senior management in company and client organizations.
• Shall be able to inspect / check all the equipment under this contract as per the schedule and follow the instructions from the superiors.
• Shall act on own responsibility when conditions warrant to clear equipment which is in imminent danger of damage to itself or other equipment or is hazardous to personnel safety because of existing or incipient failure of parts.
• Shall keep assigned equipment at designated areas in a clean and orderly manner.
• Shall be able to Recommends improvements in operating procedures.
• Shall perform other related duties as assigned by the superiors.
• Shall consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine best equipment functioning.
• Shall be able to troubleshoot, repair, replace and clean equipment and components as per the instructions from the superior.
• Shall take part in and complete all training sessions, safety classes, pre-shift meetings, Toolbox Talk at site on every shift at site.
• Shall be able to use tools, multi-meters, Loop checker and/or other related metering and measuring equipment,
• Shall be able to read and apply processes and procedures according to operation and maintenance manuals.
• Shall be able to follow proper safety and housekeeping procedures of the area.
• Shall be able to work the posted schedule with shift work and overtime, as necessary.

Ideally, you should have education of Diploma or degree in Engineering, Science or Technical area of Instrumentation, Electrical and Electronics. shall have a certificate from the OEM (Autronica) for operation and maintenance of Fire Alarm Systems.

minimum experience of at least five (5) years of field experience in fire protection, petrochemical, oil refinery, ship repair facilities, or related industry. Experience with industrial fire protection systems including inspection, testing, maintenance and/or installation with an emphasis on industrial F&G;detection and suppression systems.

You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as, an advance level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office. You will need excellent communication and presentation skills in both written and verbal English.
