Safety Engineer

Responsibilities:

Maintain and apply knowledge of current health and safety policies, regulations, and industrial
processes
Identify and correct potential hazards by inspecting facilities, machinery, and safety equipment
Report and present safety related status and issues to HSE team and business groups.
Develops and/or implements programs to minimize risk to employees, customer, and the environment.
Gathers HSE information and evaluates results. Knowledgeable in understanding of HSE standards and policies
Develop and submit detailed HSE plans
Provide advice and consultation to employees to assist them in maintaining a safe working environment in compliance with environmental/safety regulations, standards, and practices
Review engineering designs for compliance with company and industry safety standards
Conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices
Perform work permit reviews, behavior-based safety inspections, job site safety compliance inspections, including hazard analyses and safe work procedures, and prepare written reports
and recommendations

Prepare safety orientations, safety training and job site inspection procedures
Direct or assist in the development of specialized education and training materials
Assist local management in new employee occupational health, safety, and environmental
orientation

Review and analyze injury, property damage, and statistical loss data and work with
management to prepare comprehensive recommendations for corrective action to eliminate or

minimize potential hazards

Incorporate essential safety requirements in all purchasing and contracting actions
Respond to emergency situations and incidents, either during or after regular working hours, to provide technical assistance and advice
Participate in subcontractor prequalification evaluation activities and review subcontractor safety submittals for compliance to corporate requirements
Recommend the purchase of safety equipment, related supplies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with established company requirements
Assist management with monitoring adherence to department safety and environmental programs by employees and subcontractors

Qualifications Experience:

Bachelor Degree in Engineering from a recognized and reputed university
The Engineering fields (for Bachelor Degree) shall be Aerospace, Architecture, Automotive, Biological Science, Biomechanical, Biomedical, Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Engineering Physics, Environment, Fire & Safety, Geology, Industrial, Instrumentation, Manufacturing, Marine, Mechanical, Metallurgy, Microelectronic, Mining, Nanotechnology, Nuclear, Petroleum, Production, Robotics or Structural & Sustainability Design
Must have successfully completed two or more certified HSE course(s) in any category of training in General Industrial Safety, Construction Safety, Environmental Management, Industrial Hygiene, ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH, ICertOSH, iDipOSH, iDipNEBOSH, iEnvDipNEBOSH, CSP, ASP, CRSP, CMIOSH, CEP, GSP. QEP, CIH, Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS), ASSE Certificate in Global Safety Management or equivalent courses, as appropriate to the designation.
Must have with minimum 8 years’ experience as HSE personnel in the relevant field, which includes minimum three (3) years’ experience in Oil and Gas Industries.
Fluent written and spoken English skills. The Arabic skills will be Plus
Good communication skills and team work oriented
