Key Roles and Responsibilities
Strategy Formulation
Assist in the development of strategic objectives and KPIs for the Sales Department in line with Mohamed Naser Al – Hajery & Sons strategy and ensure that the Department’s employees are working towards the achievement of these objectives.
Assist in the review of the operating results of the Sales Department and follow-up to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct insufficient results.
Budget & Cost Control
§ Assist in the development of the COOPs Sales Department’s annual budget and ensure all employees are working within the assigned budget by setting the required targets and responsibilities.
COOPs Sales Management Activities
Implement the COOPs Personal and Homecare Sales Department activities and ensure that sales plans are being adhered to by the COOPs Personal and Homecare sales team in order to achieve the department’s objectives and the stated sales targets.
Assist in monitoring the COOPs Personal and Homecare Sales Department’s operating results (i.e. sales numbers in terms of value and volume, new customers, etc.) and compare them to the department’s goals and objectives, in order to ensure sales plans are properly implemented.
Minimizes FMCG Personal and Homecare sales returns/damaged goods and short expiry goods by monitoring returns, implementing the depletion plan and avoiding overstocking the points of sales.
Assist in managing the development of COOPs Personal and Homecare sales forecast, sales targets and monthly/ annual sales plans taking into consideration market trends, economic conditions and competitive environment.
Review reports received from the COOPs Personal and Homecare Sales Supervisor pertaining to any arising issues pertaining to sales, customer requirements, delivery of stock, inventory, etc. and take corrective actions, as required.
Review and approve the sales quotations developed by the COOPs Personal and Homecare Sales Supervisor, in order to be communicated to the customers.
Review and approve the COOPs Personal and Homecare visibility agreements developed by the COOPs Personal and Homecare Sales Supervisor in order to ensure strategic allocation of the company’s products in all customers’ stores.
Approve Merchandisers visits schedule to ensure timely delivery of all the required items to the assigned stores/ warehouses.
Approve all COOPs Personal and Homecare sales driven promotions, events, campaigns submitted by the Sales Supervisor according to the Sales Department’s predefined budget.
Liaise with the Finance Department on financial matters related to price lists, sales activities and collection of due payments by customers.
Manage the business relations with key COOPs customers and oversee the process of providing Personal and Homecare sales services in order to attain the company’s customers and increase retention levels.
Oversee the processing of COOPs customers’ orders and supervise the Personal and Homecare sales services in order to ensure customer satisfaction.
Maintain awareness of market trends by understanding forthcoming customer initiatives, competitive products, legislation and brand awareness.
Build external networks to understand market trends & competitor activity that will allow the company to maintain a competitive advantage in the market.
Encourage the COOPs Personal and Homecare sales team to create new ideas by providing better growth opportunities, and other motivational tools to retain existing customers and attract new customers
People Management
Work closely with the Division/ Department Heads to plan and advance the people agenda, analyses manpower plans, implications of decisions, and address issues to direct the priorities accordingly.
Conduct annual employee performance appraisal of employees ensuring employee career development and motivation.
Recommend salary adjustments, rewards and promotions based on employee performance.
Carry out disciplinary meetings whenever deemed necessary.
Ensure training needs of employees are identified and recommend relevant training initiatives that will assist in building a highly professional and knowledgeable workforce.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualification
Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or related field.
Master’s in Business Administration would be an advantage.
Work Experience
Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in the same or related field.
Sales experience in multi-unit and multi-geographic locations would be an advantage.
Proven track record of success in purchasing, pricing, distribution and financial management
