Web Developer

We are searching for a highly-motivated Web Developer to join our team in Kuwait. You will provide technical expertise in the area of web/software development. Both activities consist of designing, documenting, developing and maintaining public and private websites and web-based systems for all current and future organizational IT initiatives. We are looking for someone detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple-tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

You are required to have at least 3 Years of practical experience and knowledge of:

1- Demonstrating strong interaction and rapid prototype engineering skills across a broad spectrum of technologies including PHP 5, xHTML, CSS3, HTML5, Javascript, jQuery, Ext JS, Actionscript 2&3;, AJAX, JSON, MySQL and Protype

2- Web-based application design and development with expertise in one or more of the following: HTML, JavaScript and Java, CSS, XML/XSLT, Java Server Faces, DOM manipulation, Primes Faces, JBoss EAP, Eclipse and Adobe Photoshop

3- Front-end web development experience using HTML and CSS. Must have the ability to use HTML cleanly and effectively, use the latest standards in HTML specification, and have a clear understanding of CSS rules and standards.

4- Using Adobe Dreamweaver or other web development IDEs (i.e., Eclipse, NetBeans, etc.) to write HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and server-side code

5- JavaScript and how to create dynamic, responsive web pages using JavaScript, AJAX, and JavaScript libraries (i.e jQuery, Prototype, MooTools, etc.) Must also be able to create and customize jQuery scripts or plug-ins based on project requirements

6- Developing server-side code for web-based applications using VBScript and Active Server Pages (ASP)

7- Maintaining Microsoft SQL instances, databases, tables, and data using database management/software (i.e., Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, Microsoft SQL Server Configuration Manager, etc.)

8- Implementing Rich User Interfaces in ASP.Net using HTML5 and jQuery

9- Using widely used content management systems (Joomla/Drupal/WordPress)

10- Using data visualization technologies such as D3, High charts, and Tableau

What you’ll be doing:

1- Developing custom websites and digital media solutions from the backend in PHP, MVC frameworks, and MySQL with some front end work: JavaScript, jQuery, HTML and CSS.

2- Designing and analyzing MySQL tables, queries and stored procedures

3- Prototyping, coding, testing and analyzing Web front-end application software

4- Understanding and articulating the product vision, problem definition, and opportunity in response to customer requirements/requests

5- Creating web applications for a number of platforms designed for scalability

6- Working closely with business analysts, internal and external stakeholders to articulate and define user goals

7- Leading focus groups, perform AB testing and Usability tests, and incorporate feedback into designs

8- Developing UI and/or UX

9- Executing UX process: initial wireframes, developing mock-ups and prototypes, providing final assets

10- Implementing responsive designs/scalable designs

11- Articulating the rationale behind design decisions

12- Integrating web designs into enterprise infrastructure

13- Consulting with team leaders, managers and stakeholders to gather and review requirements, and create functional specifications

14- Participating in quality assurance testing processes to confirm that acceptance criteria are met.

15- Assisting with production and test system problems as requested. Debug and fix as part of the development and ongoing support process.

16- Suggesting potential improvements to the processes, techniques and technology used that will result in improved processes, technology, workflow, quality and/or responsiveness for our clients

17- Developing/testing 508 compliant websites (working knowledge of Section 508 guidelines and can understand and satisfy development of Section 508-compliant pages and content)

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 3 or more years of experience developing web applications in core PHP (70% backend and 30% frontend)

• Solid understanding of web technologies such as: JavaScript & jQuery, CSS, HTML, AJAX, XML, JSON, HTTP and Databases (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle)

• Solid understanding of MySQL and/or PostgreSQL

Apache (and its modules), Nginx or Lighttpd administration
Adobe Flash video stack
Java back-end development
Linux Administration
Cross-browser development
Product internationalization and localization
Memcached, Varnish or other caching technologies
DOM and DOM Manipulation
Developing JSPs and working in Java/J2EE environment
Using Eclipse, Maven, Jenkins and Perforce desirable
