Hiring Assistant Scenic Carpenter
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: up to 5K AED all-inclusive, depending on experience and qualifications
Location: Sharjah, UAE
The first performing arts academy in MENA region
• Direct physical operations of the Scenic Construction Workshop including machine maintenance, material handling and inventory, assisting in constructing scenic elements and production, as well as setting up and dismantling scenic pieces.
• Review drawing package created by Scenic Construction Tutor or production manager and discuss all construction methods per current industry standards.
• Lead crews of students and assist with any scenic rigging elements during the build and load-in/fit-up process in the theatre.
• Assist the Scenic Construction Tutor as needed in lessons and provide supervision to students fulfilling a construction role on Academy productions and projects.
• Conduct daily maintenance to ensure compliance with current Health and Safety regulations relevant to the scenic/performing arts industry.
Requirements:
• At least five years of experience in a professional carpentry workshop
• At least 5 years of related experience in the performing arts production industry is a major plus
• Must have advanced carpentry skills
• Must have basic metalwork skills
• Must be locally available in the UAE
