We are currently seeking to immediately hire a School Library Assistant, and we encourage applications from UAE Nationals only.
Key responsibilities:
• Liaise with teachers ensuring correct up-to-date books/textbooks are shelved in the library.
• Assist students to find books appropriate to their reading level and interest and help students and staff source topic-related books for study.
• Awareness of Library Ethics and support ethos of the learning environment.
• Responsible for adding and deleting books and barcodes as appropriate.
• Responsible for contributing to the general maintenance of the library ensuring it is comfortable, well lit, attractive, organised, clearly signposted etc.
• Perform other duties as requested by direct & dotted reporting line managers / supervisors.
• Facilitate the borrowing and returning of library materials for students and staff. Monitor due dates and follow up on overdue materials, implementing necessary procedures to ensure timely return.
The successful applicant will be required to have the following:
• Qualification- High school diploma or equivalent/bachelor’s degree; additional coursework in library science or related field is a plus.
• UAE passport & Family book.
• Good verbal and written skills.
• Good IT and interpersonal communication skills to work closely with staff, students, and parents.
