We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Design Engineer to join a dynamic team. As a Structural Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, analyzing, and constructing various structural elements, with a particular focus on steel structures. This role requires a deep understanding of structural engineering principles and a strong command of design software, such as STAAD PRO.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and Analysis: Develop structural plans, specifications, and calculations for buildings, complex structures, and steel structures. Identify discrepancies in project inputs and collaborate with the lead engineer to address them.
• Connection Detailing: Proficiently handle the connection detailing of complex steel structures, ensuring precision and adherence to project specifications and codes.
• Design Calculations: Prepare design calculations in strict compliance with project specifications, industry codes, and design guidelines.
• Connection Design: Create connection designs and sketches to accommodate specified loads accurately.
• Drawing Review: Thoroughly review shop drawings to validate the correct interpretation of design details.
• Software Proficiency: Demonstrate a strong knowledge of STAAD PRO and its application to steel structures.
• Cost-Efficiency: Propose alternate, cost-effective technical solutions and select appropriate materials for construction projects.
• Supervision: Oversee construction and fabrication activities by conducting random site and yard visits, and produce detailed reports on the progress and quality of work.
Position Specifications:
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
• Desired Professional Exposure and Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years of structural design experience
• Knowledge of fabrication and erection activities in the UAE or similar environments
