Design Engineer (Mechanical)

JOB PURPOSE:

Develop & implement technical solutions for process improvement and different engineering projects for procurement and manufacturing.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Output 3D model and CAD drafts / Manufacturing Drawings:

Design new machinery and concepts
Design Machinery Upgrades
Design Machine Parts
Communicate with suppliers and customers
Provide Technical Support to requestor
Equipment transfers & Modifications:

Ensure a smooth and supported equipment transition to FPI other manufacturing companies
Prepare the necessary documentation for equipment transition
Handle Equipment Inquiries
Design and improve machines and machine parts
Supervise the upgrading and building of new equipment and systems
Training and Reporting:

Provide the necessary training, and support for assigned projects
Verify & Commission outside manufactured components
Prepare operating / troubleshooting manuals for new projects
HSE:

Comply with relevant safety, quality and environmental control procedures and instructions
Use personal protective equipment and safety gear when performing assigned tasks
Keep operational areas clean and well organized to prevent incidents and accidents
Maintain assigned tools, equipment and machinery in good working order
SPAN OF COMMUNICATION:

Internal: Technology, Maintenance, Production, QC/QA.

External: Suppliers (Local & Overseas), Other manufacturing units

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree of Engineering - Mechanical Engineering
Preferred Experience:

5 to 7 years of relevant experience in engineering and manufacturing environment
Job-Specific Skills:

Knowledge of main plant items (compressors, pumps, gearboxes, cranes, etc.)
Ability to read hydraulic/ pneumatic drawings, standards and codifications
Knowledge of all workshop tools (handling sets, welding, cutting, grinding, drilling, turning, shaping etc.)
Knowledge of all equipment used for machine erection
Ability to use all measuring tools (Callipers, Tapes, Levelling tools, etc.)
Ability to assess the budget price for the projects & machineries
Ability to design the equipment in low cost & less maintenance
COMPETENCIES:

Good mathematical and modelling skills
Good Communication skills – English is required
Computer Literacy (Windows, CAD, MS Project, MS Office, etc)
