Job Description and Qualifications

THE PROJECT

NEOM GREEN HYDROGEN COMPANY:

Air Products has entered into a Joint Venture agreement with ACWA Power and NEOM and together established the NEOM GREEN HYDROGEN COMPANY (NGHC). The Company will be Owner and Operator of the world’s first and largest green hydrogen project at an estimated capital investment of USD $ 5bn. This unique project will be a fore-runner in green hydrogen-based ammonia production and will serve the new and growing global Hydrogen markets. The facility will be sited in NEOM, KSA and will be powered by more than 4GW of renewable solar, wind and battery storage. The project is scheduled to be onstream in 2026.

POSITION SUMMARY

NEOM Green Hydrogen Company are looking for a Seawater Cooling System & Water Treatment engineer who has Subject Matter Expertise and experience in the specification, design, engineering and operation of open cooling water tower seawater cooling systems, preferably in large integrated facilities.

NATURE & SCOPE

The candidate will work as part of the NGHC Project Management team, providing independent design input, operability and maintainability review and engineering review to the EPC for the design of the open cooling water tower seawater cooling system, as well as the separate Demin Water system being designed for the facility.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES

Principal responsibilities would include:

Ensuring the design meets operating & maintenance, reliability and environmental requirements.
Attending P&ID;reviews, HAZOP and Operability Reviews with the EPC, representing the owner and Operations.
Understand the design requirements, process operating parameters, filtration needs of the proposed cooling water and demin plant systems for the facility
Participate in Comprehensive Review of the sea water cooling design tower system over the design life of the project;
Are adequate design margins specified on fans, pumps, pipe size, filters, etc;
Is the system designed for the required reliability;
What O&M;cost is required and how much downtime is required.
Provide input on industry best practices on these equipment systems, particularly relevant in the Middle East region
Participate in Comprehensive Review of the Demin water system (being specified for the facility) - Review design margins, vendor selections, maintainability of the system.

المهارات
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Significant operations, project, and engineering experience, with some experience in Sea Water Cooling systems, Demin plants or other related processes.
Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree preferred
Demonstrated strong organizational, planning skills.
Ability to drive decisions across organizations mainly through influence.
Interest in new technology development, working outside prescribed standards or extrapolating technical applications.
Ability to work/travel internationally
EDUCATION

BS in ME or CHE is desired or 10 years of engineering experience
Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in design, specification and engineering of industrial cooling water systems & demineralization plants.
