ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Global Head of Technical Services is the key point of contact to assess the Client environment, define the technical solution and related costing, negotiate, and formalize the technical offer. The person has to understand the Client needs and requirements, and develop a competitive Managed Services solutions for our customers. The Global Head of Technical Services will oversee three regional organizations and will manage the engineering teams in MENA, SSA and Europe. The individual will work with the Managed Services Sales teams to identify, qualify and establish new Managed Services solutions. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to interact with the Senior-level Clients, Sales teams and delivery executives.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist Sales teams with bids and tenders for new clients
Support business development with initial assessment of customer environment and solution Influence customer solution to meet customer needs
Prepare technical proposals for deals
Present RFP responses to clients and demonstrate company’s differentiated value proposition
Negotiate technical tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs
Calculate solution costs
Perform Technical and Business requirement gathering from various stake holders in the customer environment
Develop technical solution architecture and assists sales team to build overall win strategy.
Perform comparative analysis on various technical solutions in the context of customer requirements
Manage three regional teams ~40 engineers and growing
Train and coach future engineering leaders
Maintain the health and morale of the team
Ensure that the organizational structure is structured to allow the teams to work as effectively as possible
Have regular 1:1s with the team and make sure there is a good and honest communication channel with people about great feedback and areas of improvement
About you:
Hard skills
7+ years of hands-on software development
Strong knowledge of current Java technologies (Java 8, Spring Boot) and Apache infrastructure technologies as well as database technologies like MySQL, MongoDB and Redis
Proven track record of architecting and delivering complex technical projects to solve problems at scale
Knowledge of latest front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML 5) and server-side JavaScript (node.js, TypeScript) is desirable
Experience with software build and release process via a common CI/CD setup like Jenkins or Gitlab
Knowledge of best CI / CD Practices
Experience with Cloud Technologies such as Azure and AWS and relevant compliance (security, GDPR)
Experience designing and operating solutions within microservice-based architecture
Experience designing and delivering secure fail-safe systems and architecture
Expert in API development, integration, cloud and server-side technologies, identity and authentication solutions
Soft skills
5+ years leading highly technical and high performing engineering teams
3+ years in international client-facing role
