Job Description With a background experience in employment law in both their home jurisdiction and the UAE, the role holder will come with a strong team orientated work ethic. They will have the ability to mitigate legal risks emanating from employment contracts, handle investigations and disputes, review, improve and manage employment and compliance policies and procedures as well as provide support with review and drafting of commercial agreements. We are looking for someone who has a high level of professionalism and keen attention to detail with a mature work ethic. An individual who is passionate and keen to work in a varied role and be part of a growing company in a fastmoving industry. Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist business functions, including HR, on all employment negotiations and contracts. • Mitigate legal risks emanating from employment contracts for the company. • Address queries from business functions regarding employment matters. • Manage all investigations, from minor labour disputes through to more complex matters. • Review and improvement of employment policies and procedures. • Review and improvement of employee / consultant / contractor engagement frameworks. • Review and drafting of commercial agreements where the need of the business requires. • Management of compliance policies and procedures. This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above. Qualifications • LLB Law and/or CILEX • UK/US/Canadian/Australian/New Zealand educated/qualified. • Minimum 5 years’ experience as in-house legal counsel. • Must have strong experience in employment law in both their home jurisdiction and the UAE Key Skills: • English fluency, excellent speaking and writing skills • Keen attention to detail is vital • Ability to focus and thrive in a fast-paced environment • High level of professionalism, with a mature work ethic • Microsoft Office proficient (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint at a minimum) Additional Skills (ideal but not necessary): • Experience of Thomson Reuters Practical Law and Refinitiv World Check Platform. • Spoken and/or written French, German or Arabic.
