Job Description
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
This is a fantastic opportunity to join Bryanston Logistics as the Head of Business Development. You will actively pursue sales opportunities with the aim of bringing on board new business for the company.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Play an active role in implementing sales plan to specified targets and timescales.
Manage and maintain sales pipeline
Represent the company in person and in writing in a positive and advantageous manner, whether in a corporate or industry facing context.
Responsible for ensuring that sales plans result in satisfied and profitable clients; this involves close co-operation with other staff members in both operations and account management.
Networking and data capture in all forms including overseeing database maintenance and usage by in-house and remote sales force
Prospecting by conventional means as well as endless chain concept with existing clients and contacts
Writing and editing proposals and tender documents
Writing and presenting pitch materials individually and as part of a team
Negotiating with prospects on contractual or other financial elements of trading relationship
Implementing new business in conjunction with account management including holding inception meetings
To act, if required, as account manager for new accounts
Possess a thorough knowledge of the Logistics and Transportation sector and keep abreast of industry changes
To be aware and communicate competitor activities
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
To achieve new sales targets as advised during any given period, set by the Business Development Director
Meet Key Performance Indicators
REPORTING & ATTENDANCE
Reporting to Business Development Director
Attend monthly Business Review Meetings
Attend quarterly company meetings.
Attend weekly management meeting.
Attend weekly conference call with Senior Management
Attend any internal/external/promotional training events with customers, suppliers.
Candidate must have a travel background or similar.
