About the Role
You are responsible to supports the operations for monitoring quality, compliance and regulatory aspects of IKEA Al-Futtaim Range. You contributes to the interactions between company and government entities to ensure all products are following each countries regulation. You identifies potential risks and accountable to lead risk-based sales product safety compliance plan, ensure product safety in the value chain and secures product safety competence in the markets we operate.
Key Specific Accountabilities
PR&C;Operations:
Contribute to safeguard the IKEA brand by ensuring a high quality, safe and inspirational customer experience
Perform the necessary step to secure that the IKEA range sold in your country complies with the Product Safety laws in your country
Execute the correct reporting and handling of product safety and prepare the relevant documentation to ensure that the process is working as per Countries regulations and is connected to IKEA of Sweden AB
Ensure that systems and methods stated in IKEA Concept Documentation are implemented in the IKEA Way
Identify and escalate all Product Safety & Compliance issues within the retail country and when needed, support other IKEA units in the country
Prepare, interpret and document relevant national product standards and regulations
Translate standards and regulations applicable for the sales market
Review and analyse test results and keep close communication with test labs
Ensure that the IKEA routines established to handle “product safety issues” (e.g. Safety Alarm) are implemented and working in the retail country
Develop a good working relationship with national consumer authorities and be identified as the IKEA contact person in all matters relating to product safety and compliance on the local market
Develop and maintain a network of internal and external compliance experts on the sales markets
Identify and develop contacts in consumer organisations on the local market and promote the perception of IKEA as the “good company”
Develop and maintain knowledge about IKEA product requirements
Support with the Regional Expansion Plans whenever necessary including Commercial planning, build up and opening phases.
Being the expert within the retail country on Product Safety & Compliance issues
Sustainability Focus:
Collaborate to secure sustainability is integrated across all IKEA market in delivering their sustainability contribution to the agreed frameworks and strategies.
Contribute to secure local adaption of the global and country directions and ambitions, to deliver to the total business agenda and a more People and Planet Positive IKEA.
Support alignment, budget and resources are in place to move the sustainability agenda within the market.
Facilitate integration and implementation of sustainability by supporting functions with the right information, best practice solutions, tools & methods and ways of working.
Explore and follow-up on sustainability situation in local PMA and contribute to the unit’s business agenda, provide feedback and share across sustainability matrix.
Document and evaluate initiatives and activities with a view to capitalise on learning, sharing and promoting continuous improvement
People:
Committed to personal development and secure understanding of the IKEA Concept and other key guidelines, and how this have an impact on day-to-day activities.
Contribute to spread Product Quality & Compliance knowledge across Sales & Range team

Ensure we have a simple and straightforward internal communication and information flow, and secure that key information is understood by all IKEA Sales co-workers.

You are enthusiastic about assignments and working with others in a team. You are able to prioritize and plan tasks to reach the targeted results. You have a passion for home furnishing, retailing and how people live at home.
What’s more, we believe that you have the following knowledge, capabilities and motivation:
Live and share the IKEA values every day.
University Degree and Minimum 2 to 4 years of long experience of product safety and compliance, testing.
Retail background is favourable, IKEA experience is preferred
Good knowledge of national product legislation.
Ability to have highly developed networking skills to build relationships with government authorities and be first point of contact.
Good knowledge of Market sustainability practices with local government authorities.
Attention to detail and ability to create proper documentation.
Ability to build working relationships with stakeholders and work in teams.
Fluent in English & Arabic both spoken and written
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Good presentation skills.
