Patent Engineer

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Support inventors and R&D;with every aspect of the patent process.
Research other similar inventions and patents.
Write patent applications with an eye toward anticipating any questions or objections the patent examiner may have.
Prepare responses to reports from patent examiners.
Ensure application and renewal deadlines are met.
Support litigation in proceedings.
Advise overseas attorneys on applications for patents in territories including China, USA and EU.
Deal with assignments of the patent when a patent is sold or transferred.
Track the company’s patent and trademark portfolio.
Track patent and trademark maintenance fees.
Educate and inform management on intellectual property topics and issues.
Forecast and guard against company IP legal risks.
Support development of Patent Strategy, Company Policy, and position on IP legal issues.
Coordinate and manage the research of IP issues.
Maintain and manage work of outside IP legal counsel.
Support preparation of invention disclosures.
Search for third party patents to support infringement clearance opinions.
Review and approve documents to prepare and prosecute patent applications.
Invention disclosure forms and drafting the final patent application.
Patentability search and assessment.
Must be willing to travel as required.

Motivate employees, drive team spirit, manage external relations and enforce the discipline of team members where necessary with HR.
Portrays the Company in a positive light.
Be a positive role model to Company staff.

المهارات
Skills and Qualifications:

· Degree with a background in engineering or related discipline i.e. Electrical or Mechanical or both

· > 10 years’ experience as a Patent Engineer

· Intellectual Property Law Degree is strongly preferred

· Experience filing patents in China, EU and USA strongly preferred

· Experience across relevant energy and engineering corporations

· Experience in the battery technology field strongly preferred

· Experience working with diverse teams internationally

· Experience working independently

· Retain strong technical experience and knowledge from energy and engineering industries

· Exhibit mastery of English written and verbal Communication

· Skilled in Interpretation of highly technical reports

· Skilled in mathematical communication and diagram formation

· Familiarity with the relevant platforms and services used by Patent Engineers to conduct their work

· Skilled in data collection and interpretation

· Must possess strong reasoning ability

· Strong problem-solving capabilities

· Time Management
