Applications invited for the position of Food Safety Manager
Job Purpose:
The Food Safety Manager is responsible managing day to day operational and administrative activities within the Food Safety section under the Food Safety and Cleaning Services Department. Moreover, this role is responsible for ensuring the effective and sustainable implementation of the food safety management system which is very critical to the business to ensure safe food production for our customers.
Key Result Areas:
Ensure that the operational and administrative activities within the department are efficiently carried out by the food safety team to ensure food safety compliance standards are maintained.
Ensure that the employees under food safety, microbiology laboratory and administration are equipped with sufficient training for proper execution of their role as per the set job description and career development.
Ensure that requirements of the food safety management system are complied with and its performance evaluated regularly based on the set KPIs and SLAs through stakeholder engagement.
Ensure compliance within EKFC with the food safety requirements and standards set by external customers and government regulatory agencies concerning the operations of EKFC.
Develop a food safety culture within the organization through communication, awareness and On-job training of EKFC colleagues to ensure compliance to Food Safety and Hygiene standards.
Provide Food Safety technical support to internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with the requirements and standards of the food safety management system.
Collaborate with the food safety team and other stakeholders (production/culinary, supply chain and customer development) to ensure that new product ranges are effectively risk assessed to ensure compliance with site capabilities and processes.
Conduct investigations and generate reports to support findings for food safety complaints and food poisoning allegations.
Provide Food Safety technical support to internal stakeholders and improvise on in-house testing procedures and laboratory equipment to ensure compliance with the requirements and standards of the food safety management system.
Educational Qualification:
· Degree in Food Science/Food Technology or Microbiology.(must have)
· Knowledge on interpreting microbiological analysis results and provide technical advice and decisions based on the test results (preferred).
Work Experience:
· 7 years working experience in a largescale food manufacturing and catering environment.
· Implementation and management of GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) standards such as BRC (British Retail Consortium) and FSSC (Food Safety System Certification) 22000.
· Implementation and management of ISO 17025 in the laboratory
· Experienced in implementation and management of Halal
Skills:
· Professional at building relationships, communication and problem solving skills
· Confident with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders
· Should be well versed in written and spoken English
· Advanced supervisory skills, proficient planning and organising, problem solving, ability to work under significant pressure in a 24/7 working environment.
