HEat Treatment Operator

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Set the temperature controls for particular treatments and make adjustments as per technical data sheet provided by the material supplier.
Load untreated products into a furnace for heat treatment.
Use proper heat treatment scheduling to ensure proper sequence for product through heat-treating cycles.
Monitor the treatment cycle in line with instructions provided on production data sheet. Responsible for sampling parts during the heat treatment operation to ensure parts meets the specifications.
Test samples for hardness and other properties to make sure they meet the manufacturer’s specifications.
To conduct stage inspection of the job if necessary and as per requirement.
Record test results on processing data sheet.
Perform operator maintenance and/or 5S housekeeping per established schedules.
Complete all required paperwork including processing data sheet and maintain all required traceability standards.
To participate in weekly production review meetings.
Strictly follow housekeeping procedures including machine and tool equipment cleaning and ensure the surrounding area is absolutely clean and in order. 
Follow company’s HSE guidelines in respect of all operations undertaken and follow safety precautions highlighted in the SOP & manuals. Communicate potential hazards immediately to supervisor.
Perform any other job/task given by the Production Supervisor to accomplish department objectives.

Education/ Qualifications

ITI/Diploma in Engineering

Experience

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience preferably from a tool and die making manufacturing company

Functional Skills & Specific Knowledge

Fair knowledge of material and their properties
Knowledge of Hardness testing equipment
Fair knowledge of quenching mediums
