We are looking for a Factory Coffee Roaster to join our team!

TITLE: FACTORY COFFEE ROASTER

REPORTS TO: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the roasting of product as planned by the production schedule and for the staging of roasted product (including bulk product) for packaging. Coordinates with greens loader to ensure a smooth flow of production. Performs duties in ways that maximize production efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

Operates roasting machines, coolers and other devices for production.
Maintains proper color and blends of coffees as established by the product specification.
Maintains accurate roasting sheets, greens coffee usage, control charting and other records.
Maintains an accurate inventory through use of a computerized inventory system.
Incorporates rework at established quality specifications as required.
Performs sample testing with roasted coffee to ensure color and moisture are all within customer specifications.
Services equipment in roasting area and keeps lead maintenance man informed of all needs.
Responsible for general housekeeping around the roasting area.
Upholds and provides safe, high-quality, consistent products, and superior services that anticipate, meet or exceed the requirements of our customers.
Complies with General Safety Communication Program.
Performs any other duties/tasks that may be assigned to him/her on an as needed basis.

SKILL SET/ EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge of green coffee concepts.
Operational knowledge of Burns roasting machines.
Basic experience with hand tools.
Working knowledge of computer basics and experience with data entry.
Read and write in the English language.
Manufacturing experience preferred.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Basic ability to read, write, calculate simple math and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
Good analytical and organizational skills needed to plan and implement machine functions.
Ability to address complex problems and propose viable solutions.
Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND EQUIPMENT:

Operational knowledge of roasters, coolers, color analysis machine, product routing equipment and metric tooling.
This position is inside a warehouse roasting facility that requires constant standing on concrete floors, exposed to loud equipment noise and subject to coffee dust and flavoring smells.
Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions when transferring product from one building to another.
Personal protection equipment and other Good Manufacturing Practices are mandatory.
Must operate a forklift.
EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent.
WORK HABITS:

Regular attendance and promptness is a must for this job.
This job requires a high degree of teamwork.
Assists new training of employees as directed.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $ 70,000 yearly tax free
