Job Description and Requirements
JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Planner will be a member of the PMO team and will assist with establishing and managing the project planning and assist the PMO with schedule controlling, oversight and reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: General Responsibilities On his/her own initiative perform the following activities:
Develop fully integrated Project Schedule as defined in the contract in consultation with Project Manager and Package Manager
Discuss with various stake holders (Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Construction, Project Management etc.) and finalize the baseline schedule
Load resources to the schedule and develop a resource list. Perform resource levelling where necessary.
Responsible for Collecting the status of various aspects of project progress vis-à-vis
Engineering (Data Available with Document Controller)
Procurement (Data Available with Buyer)
Vendor Progress (Data Available with Package Manager)
Manufacturing (Data Available with Fabrication Manager)
Quality Control Documentation
Compile the collected data and update the schedule with actual start, finish dates and forecast dates for remaining portion of activities
Analyzes variances in cost and schedule performance against the plan, and communicates the reasons for the issuance of variance and proposed mitigation plans to management
Generate Weekly and Monthly Reports for review of Project Manager
Generate Resource Loading Charts for various packages and report to management
Monitor, track, identify trends, predict and report project status
Review, produce and document accounting data and reports project management trends
Subordinates, peers and leadership;
Work closely with peers in order to reach the common and shared goals for NOV within area of responsibility
Develop successor for own position and also ensure that succession plan in is in place for subordinates
Perform management and leadership in accordance with the NOV values being a role model for the company

Record non-conformances and improvements and implement Project corrective actions as and when required
Ensure that clear interfaces are in place towards Subcontractor(s), Suppliers and other parties with respect to Scope of Work and responsibilities
Methods of Work
Effectively plan and manage area of responsibility taking into account the various business requirements (existing laws, legislation, standards and existing guidelines in the company.
Ensure that relevant working methods are followed and kept up-to-date
Ensure that employees perform their jobs in such a way as to reduce environment and health risks
Regularly evaluate working methods and conditions thereby minimize the risk for workplace and environmental incidents and thereby minimize the risk for quality issues
Ensure that processes you own are; efficient and effective, implemented in compliance with internal and external requirements, defined and documented, known to everybody working in the process, continually measured, evaluated, improved and secured
For processes you own; make sure to report process performance based on common KPIs, rise issues and risks that need to be resolved on a higher management level
Develop, own and implement strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s
Degree in Engineering or Equivalent Experience
Proficiency
in Planning Tools (Primavera and MS Project)
Good
quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills
Excellent
written and speaking communication skills
Knowledge
of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
EXPERIENCE:
7 Years of
experience in Oil & Gas industry, 5 Years minimum in Project
Controls/Planning
Experience
of working as planner in fabrication shop or construction site shall be an
added advantage
