Chief Accountant

Deem Education is seeking an energetic Chief Accountant to work in Dubai’s private education sector.

The Chief Accountant is the head accountant in the accounts department.  Duties broadly include:

Month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations and journal entries.
Preparing and analyzing financial records.
Production of monthly, quarterly and annual accounting reports to management.
Communication with banks and vendors.

The Chief Accountant must supervise and work with the accounting team to complete accounting assignments within an agreed timetable.  The successful candidate will combine honesty, with excellent analytical skills, thorough knowledge of accounting principles (particularly IFRS), reading and analyzing financial reports and forecasts.

Some specific tasks include:

Handle full spectrum of financial and cost accounting role e.g. Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, General Ledger, forecasting, budgeting etc.
Responsible for day to day finance and accounts operations.
Perform full set of accounts and ensure timely closing of accounts.
Perform project cost forecasts/budgets, cost tracking, monitoring and controls.
Responsible for timely monthly consolidated financial statements, payments, cash-flow management reporting.
Review and approve payment vouchers and journal entries.
Perform cash flow forecasting, budgeting and working closely with the operations teams.
Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies.
Consultative with the respective departments on cost reduction initiatives.
Preparing month VAT declarations.

Remuneration:

Monthly salary up to 10,000 AED depending upon years of experience.
Accommodation allowance (2,500 AED per month).
Medical insurance for use within UAE for self.
Annual flights from to home of record [Economy class] for self, taken once during annual leave.
Visa processing costs paid by employer.
Final end of Service Settlement calculated in accordance with UAE Labour Law.
2-year employment contract with possibility for renewal.
المهارات
Selection criteria:

Professional accounting certification e.g., CPA or CA.
Relevant accounting qualifications e.g., BComm/BBus in Accounting.
MS Dynamics experience (clearly state in resume any training or certificates or experience with MS Dynamics).
IFRS experience.
Recent UAE work experience.
Service industry experience, preferably with private schools.
Based in Dubai.
Proficiency in English language.
Proficiency with MS suite and other relevant computer programs (particularly strong capabilities in MS Excel).
Able to work independently and highly meticulous with aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
Demonstrated ability and skills to lead, supervise, manage subordinates, motivate employees, conduct performance appraisals, oversee training requirements, and develop personnel.
Minimum 5 years proven experience as a Chief/senior Accountant in reputed organization.
