An excellent opportunity to join a rapidly growing international business supporting the ME region. The successful candidate will assist with all logistics, inventory and warehouse activities to ensure that a first-class service is consistently delivered to our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure the Smiths Code of Corporate Responsibility and Business Ethics is upheld in all activities.
Develop the company’s inventory management strategy with the aim of controlling costs within budgetary limits, generating savings
Manage and maintain the company’s material and stocked product inventory including stock profiles and stock locations through organised racking and bin identification to ensure quick response time to operational needs.
Responsible for Import/Export documentation, customs clearance process. Preparation of documents and coordination with Local authorities for obtaining permits/approvals for Import/Export of restricted materials as per country requirement.
Coordination with local service providers (transporters/forwarders) for vehicles, helpers, lifting equipment, tools for delivery/placing of our systems at customer/Project locations, exhibitions etc.
Liaising with Suppliers & Forwarders for getting shipping documents, Certificates as per customer/Letter of credit requirements.
Receive shipments and ensure both quality and quantity. Maintain physical movements of trading materials into and out of the warehouse.
Responsible for checking, maintaining documents for materials in Free Zone stock (Bonded) as required by customs authorities. Arrange entry/exit documents from customs for material movements from/to SD Free Zone warehouse.
Manage and control inventory accuracy checks
Minimise overstocks and removal of obsolete / redundant materials
Ensure that goods inward / stock control department is well organised and controlled to sufficiently support the goals of the business
Ensure incoming/outgoing product is receipted and managed appropriately according to company procedure.
Ensure materials are ready and available as and when required.
Ensure that any materials that are late are chased and followed up until received.
Ensure the required safety precautions are followed while working in the warehouse and Customer/Project Sites (including temporary helpers).
Must be able to work as part of a team in a fast paced and pressured environment, communicating effectively with both colleagues and clients and following verbal and written instructions.
Data to be maintained on a SAP ERP environment.
Provide routine management information on inventory performance. Monitor and evaluate consumables usage & costs
Monitor & evaluate material utilisation. Support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organisational planning.
Write and maintain accurate written procedures for all main inventory control processes and functions.
Be responsible for managing and running planned stock takes.
Perform cyclic stock checks
Ensure works orders are correct and fully completed and that all stock has been allocated to the job correctly.
Ensure integrity and accuracy of the stock management system
Produce daily reports to ensure key critical areas of the stock system are controlled and any discrepancies addressed and resolved.
Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved.
Able to take on additional responsibilities as and when required by the management

• Ideally possessing a relevant professional qualification and/or suitable background experience in inventory management / purchasing
• Computer literacy, competency in use of all programs within MS Office Suite and aptitude for learning specialized software programs.
• Knowledge of SAP
• Have a detailed understanding of inventory control / management systems
• Experience of working in a multinational and multicultural environment is an advantage
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and customer focused working environment.
• Excellent personal organisation and business administration skills in accordance with modern best practice methods
• Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality.
• Willingness to learn, improve and adapt.
