Manager – Materials Management

The purpose of the Manager – Materials Management is to liaise between the Logistics, Overlay and Procurement functions to support with the internal validation of Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E;) requirements across Expo 2020 Functions and to ensure that the correct materials are received, tracked, distributed and incorporated into a legacy strategy. In addition, asset management of non-Expo 2020 assets that will touch the Logistics supply chain, e.g. for International Participants and Official Partners

The main responsibilities of this role include:

- Build and integrate the FF&E;Load in/Load out timeline across Expo 2020 Function operations and external stakeholder operations;

- In collaboration with Overlay and Procurement, establish working relationships with personnel from major suppliers in order to maximize efficiency in the receipt, tracking and delivery of FFE along with the dissolution strategy;

- Define the short term and long-term goals and objectives for the work stream and agree these with the Senior Manager of Materials Management;

- Pro-actively champion the Materials Management work stream, Logistics Function, and Event Operations Department to the different stakeholders;

- Agree with Senior Manager of Materials Management, work stream and Function deliverables on a 6 month rolling basis;

- Oversee and prepare yearly plan and budget for the Materials Management with in coordination with the Senior Manager of Materials Management;

- Assist the Senior Materials Manager and work collaboratively with the Expo 2020 Official Logistics Partner in developing the dissolution strategy;

Manage with development of the Material Logistics database and Materials item catalogue;

- Manage the maintenance of a material inventory database, including part numbers, descriptions, commodity codes and estimated costs for all items to be purchased and/or leased.

المهارات
6+ experience in practical operational logistics work specifically warehouse and physical distribution at Manager level or above;

- A bachelors degree within a relevant field;

- Experience of developing new and / or existing supply chains in a practical implementation and operational environment;

- Experience of working with or for third party logistics contractors;

- Understanding of key performance drivers in the supply chain and proven track record of delivering cost effective yet service oriented results;

- Previous experience working in a fast-paced, multi-level, project based environment with emphasis on timelines and delivery of projects on time and in budget;

- Excellent programme management skills

- International Mega-Event Experience.
