Application Support Analyst

The Application/Database Support Analyst is responsible for IT application support activities including maintenance, administration, and first level support. He / She will work closely with the Service Desk to ensure timely and efficient resolution of IT application-related incidents and service requests. When requested by the System Analyst, the Application Support Analyst will support the process of impact assessing and planning IT application changes, and will then implement, test and monitor required changes in line with agreed change plans.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage the ORACLE DATABASE and AFSYS application including:
Application support
§ Resolve IT application-related incidents, service requests and problems in a timely and efficient manner in line with Business requirements
§ Employ appropriate application maintenance, support and incident management processes and procedures to support and maintain IT applications, and to investigate and resolve IT application-related incidents.
§ As required, provide timely communication to users on the status of their service requests and incidents.
§ As necessary, liaise with IT suppliers to ensure IT application-related incidents and problems are resolved in a timely and professional manner.
Database Administration
§ Installation, configuration and upgrading of database (Oracle) server software and related products
§ Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
§ Ability to carry out database backup and recovery
§ Ability to perform both database and operating system performance tuning and monitoring

المهارات
§ A degree in Information Systems or related discipline
§ Knowledge of Database Security/Authorizations
§ Understanding of ITIL service management will be an added advantage
§ Ability to document stakeholders’ requirements
§ Extensive experience with database technologies (Oracle & SQL)
§ Proficiency in RDBMS, including MS SQL, Oracle Database
§ Experience in Technical/Functional specification documentation
§ Deep understanding of the Oracle database, related utilities and tools
§ A good understanding of AFSYS application
§ A good knowledge of how Oracle acquires and manages resources
§ Experience in code migration to production, database change management
§ A sound knowledge of both database and system performance tuning
§ Should have sound communication skills with stakeholders including business users, Infrastructure team, vendors and other systems administrators
§ Should possess a sound understanding of the 3PL logistics business process
