The role of the Senior Manager Special Segments is to manage the marketing, promotion and sales of Incentive and International Schools and Universities to Expo. The role is visitation focused with a strong emphasis on lead generation, relationship marketing and sales, and marketing contracts negotiation and delivery. The main responsibilities for this role include: - Develop and lead a market development strategy for Incentive events to be hosted at Expo during Expo period in a way that considers the overall programming calendar, Expo narrative, visitor segments and venue specifications; - Formulate product and sales strategy, and business case for Incentive and Student visitation at Expo 2020; - Achieve targets for Incentive and Student visitors based on aggressive targets (to be agreed) for footfall, through to closing and delivery marketing contracts; - Build a solid relationship and network with key members of the travel trade, Incentive end-users, tourism authorities, and other key stakeholders – leveraging existing networks; - Build a network of support from UAE embassies based in source markets and relevant business associations; leveraging existing networks; - Work with the marketing and communications teams to develop collateral and presence at trade shows, road shows and other third-party platforms to market the value proposition for Expo 2020; - Prepare bespoke pitches & bid documentation; - After trade events, report and provide recommendations for future planning; - Develop and achieve visitation target based on International Student and Incentive strategy; - Maintain the CRM system, manage the client accounts; - Support the development of overall student journeys to ensure that its fit for international student requirement; - Support the development of student tour guides, workshops and any ancillary programmes that is required for student visitation; - Draft collateral and content to support the departments work efforts as needed; - Oversee the management of all suppliers and logistics to ensure activations are delivered to brief and on schedule; - Keep up to date on events industry best practices, latest innovations, technologies; - Support the team’s annual planning, delivery and overall performance, including budgeting, budget control, reporting and recruitment; - Set objectives and evaluate performance of individual direct reports and actively manage key personnel issues; - Provide visible leadership to the division and across the organization to key stakeholders.
المهارات
8+ years of relevant experience, of which at least 4 years in a management capacity in a Convention Bureau, International Student Travel departments, exhibition/event business development or related MICE commercial environment, as well as:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in business management, marketing, tourism or related discipline;
- International experience and access to an established network of contacts in the Incentive and International Student industry;
- Proven track record of achieving visitation or destination marketing KPIs;
- Exceptional presentation skills and client relations;
- Strong leadership skills;
- Excellent planning, organizational and project management skills;
- Ability to coordinate with stakeholders;
- Strong collaboration skills and communication skills.
