Reporting to the Head of Event Health and Safety the Senior Manager – Health and Safety (Production & Ceremonies) is responsible and accountable for ensuring implementation of the Expo 2020 Health and Safety Policy, Procedures and Expo 2020 Assurance Standards and for providing specialist health and safety advice and assistance in the specialism of production and ceremony events and activities. The Senior Manager – Health and Safety (Production & Ceremonies) will be responsible for a specific focus on the health & safety and worker welfare and all functional requirements leading to the Event, this will include overseeing all health and safety related activities and documentation from the contractor (Production and Ceremony providers) to the Events Operations team, other business departments and external stakeholders. The role will lead on the management of risk assessments related to production & ceremonies and health and safety analysis of operations across different areas in order to ensure compliance with health & safety and worker welfare standards and relevant certification guidelines. The role will form an integral component of the Event Health and Safety structure and provide specialist advice, assistance and assurance on production & ceremonies to all Event Workforce, Participants, Partners, Sponsors and Contractors. The main responsibilities of this role will include: - Support the implementation of Expo’s HSQE strategy and management arrangements, including review of site management and event safety standards in line with the overall business objectives of the organisation; - Provide health and safety advice and assistance to Expo 2020 Workforce, Participants, Partners, Sponsors and Contractors, implementing work processes, and resolving any escalated issues in order to ensure health and safety across the operations; - Provide specialist health and safety advice and support in the field of production and ceremony activities, including temporary structures and areas of risk associated with large and diverse production activities; - Liaise with the necessary Local authorities on site i.e. Dubai Municipality, DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority), Civil Defence etc. as and when required; - Work with the relevant functional areas to ensure a seamless transition to operations; - Provide direct support to the production and ceremonies Functional Areas to ensure a safe environment and conduct of these related activities; -Conduct inspections of all operational areas to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and identify non-compliance, unsafe practices and conditions.
المهارات
8+ years of experience, preferably managing a team on a previous major event programme, with specific experience related to production and ceremony activities, as well as:
- A Bachelor’s degree in health and safety or equivalent;
- Professional health and safety certifications and/or accreditation from local and internationally recognized health and safety standards organizations;
- Advanced knowledge of the health and safety considerations and requirements of temporary structures associated with event activities and management of these structures;
- Knowledge of crowd safety management associated with events;
- Experience in working in a multi-cultural organization, GCC region;
- Experience in working with senior level Government partners and multi-agency stakeholders.
